MCR MINI-UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2014
Fellow Registrars,
The MU campus is buzzing with the promise of a new academic year.MoSTRA is gearing up for a big regional educational meeting with Oklahoma, Kansas and Arkansas registry associations. I hope this time of year finds you back from vacation with a renewed enthusiasm for tackling those 2014 cases and making your registry the best that it can be!
Due Dates
Facilities that are on schedule should be abstracting 2014 cases.Large hospitals (>500 cases/yr) are to report February cases by September 15 and smaller facilities (<300 cases /yr) report the 1st Quarter of 2014 by Oct. 15.If you have not started 2014 cases, please make every effort to bring your registry into compliance as soon as is possible.

We are in the process of cleaning up our contacts lists. If you know of someone who is not getting this update, please let me know. We try to send it to at least one contact per facility so that it can be shared with all.
Conversion and V14A metafile
Conversion of Web Plus is complete and we have begun accepting uploads in NAACCR v14. If you have not converted your facility database to v14 and MOv14A edits, please do so immediately. We want incoming files from any year to be in v14.
Adenocarcinoma in situof the cervix
As stated in the 2014 MCR Manual, MCR is no longer collecting these cases. Additionally, if you find a missed case, it need not be sent to us.

Abstracting Tip
Ewing sarcoma (9260) and peripheralneuroectodermal tumors (pPNET or PNET 9364) occur in bone and soft tissues. When the diagnosis is given as “Ewing/PNET,” multiple histology coding rule H17 (2007-present) and SEER Inquiry responses specify coding it to 9364. Do not confuse this with primitiveneuroectodermal tumor (PNET 9473) which occurs in the brain and spinal cord.
