MC CANADA Prayer Request: Stewardship Sunday

MC CANADA Prayer Request: Stewardship Sunday

Mennonite Church Canada invites you to Invest in the Church this Easter to Pentecost season. Each household has received a letter inviting you to prayerfully consider your participation in extending the mission of the wider Church. Thank you!
Mennonite Church CanadaPrayerNet:Please pray for Shim Beack and Joon Park of Emmanuel Mennonite Church (Abbotsford, BC). The couple had planned to serve in a long term assignment in China with Mennonite Church Canada, but Shim was recently diagnosed with cancer. Pray for wisdom as they make decisions about the future, treatment plans, and implications for their potential assignment.

Save the Date! On Oct. 3, 2015, cyclists across Canada will join together for a family friendly Ride for Refuge event in support of Mennonite Church Canada ministry. The technical and online details aren’t in place yet, but it’s not too soon to organize a team, join a team, or prepare to sponsor a rider or team. More details will follow in future announcements.

Anabaptists from around the world are coming to the United States for Global Assembly this July… but first, they need to get visas! Please join Mennonite World Conference in praying for our Visa Task Force as they work with global brothers and sisters on getting approval from the US government to travel to Pennsylvania this summer. More prayer requests at mwc-cmm.org/pa2015prayernetwork.

Gathering Hymn HWB 12 Come, let us all unite to sing

Confessing

Confession

We have not always loved you with our whole heart.

We have not always loved our neighbours as ourselves.

Forgive Us, O God.

Too often we care for ourselves, but not our sisters and brothers.

Too often we care for our friends, but not our enemies.

Forgive Us, O God.

We have passively accepted the privileges

that come from race and class

We have grasped for control, because we are afraid.

Forgive Us, O God.

Words of Assurance

Hear now the words of Assurance. God is love. We live in God and God in us. Therefore God’s love is in us. God’s love is in us, that we might love one another, as God has loved us. God’s love has redeemed us that we may love our brothers and sisters.
