I received a scholarship last year and am applying for a second year. Half of the amount may be granted if graduating in December.

Use this checklist to confirm that you understand the guidelines and know what is expected of applicants for and recipients of the Mayborn Graduate Scholarship.

As a Mayborn Graduate Scholarship applicant:

I have met all requirements for admission by the Toulouse Graduate School and the Frank W. Mayborn Graduate Institute of Journalism including having GRE scores on file and have been unconditionally accepted to the Mayborn master’s program.

I have included a cover letter stating my intention to work in the communications industry and why I deserve this scholarship.

I have included two reference letters supporting my scholarship application. Reference letters for admission cannot be used for this application but the same people may submit a supporting letter.

I have included a current resume.

If awarded a Mayborn Graduate Scholarship, I will:

  • Register as a full-time graduate student each semester (9 hours).
  • Write a personal letter to Sue Mayborn upon the receipt of this scholarship.
  • Participate in seminars, meetings, workshops and special events that are offered to you and/or recommended by the Mayborn director or the Toulouse Graduate School.
  • Participate in the Mayborn Community Service program to contribute back to the Frank W. Mayborn Graduate Institute during the year as needed. An average of 40 hours is expected.
