2015 Parent's Survey

  • JD presented raw numbers. Summary to come. Meeting noted that:
  • 33% response rate from 300 invitations. very good top line results for club:
  • "safety" and "fun" most important to parents and roos are delivering well against this.
  • other key performance areas aligned with parent expectations eg "sense of competition", "playing kit", "social events"
  • areas for club improvement include: "club being move involved in individual age group & team management", "improved training equipment"
  • good top line results at age group level overall, however some variations between age groups & teams within age groups
  • overall key finding: there is a high correlation between players enjoying playing with the Roos and 1) the extent of game time each player has, 2) the balance of fun/competition in the team and its SJRU grading, and 3) how close the teams / coaches / managers were within an age group ie if teams operated separately then enjoyment / engagement was lower
  • some teams had less than 3 responses so no separate results reports - low response rate was seen as the team having 'low engagement' with the club - and likely to be teams that were managed more independently than other teams in age group
  • age managers will share results with their respective teams pre-start of 2016 season.agreement to repeat survey in 2016
  • To do – MF, JD, Dec meeting: A coach, manager and parent's charter to ensure teams are managed in a way that increases player enjoyment and parent engagement in the club

2016 Club Playing Kit

  • Decision to purchase new jerseys every 3 years. Old Jersey's sold as training shirts for $10. Remainder given to Pacific Islands Rugby.
  • Assuming sponsorships secured as planned, Club will purchase new Jerseys for all Minis and Juniors Roos Team for 2016
  • Design 1 Preferred - but with Red and White Strip on Arm - MJRU logo on Right Chest.
  • Next Steps: Marty Ferguson to get final quotes from 3 suppliers. Sponsor needed by December to incorporate into Jersey Design
  • Sock decision not reached - but can be decided at December meeting.
