Rules/Expectations

  1. Respect others and their property.
  2. Respect instructional time. French 2 and 3 classes are combined at Paisley, and, in a combined classroom, this respect will be critical. When instruction is directed at the other level, students will be expected to complete independent work quietly and carefully. Students who interrupt the learning of others will be warned only once; for a second offense parents will be contacted.
  3. Come to class on time and prepared
  4. All school-wide rules apply.

Tutoring

After-school tutoring will be offered once a week, on Tuesday from 3:15 to 4:00 if requested. Since I only teach at Paisley in the morning, such requests must be made in advance so that I know to return at the end of the day. The day for tutoring can be flexible if students request a different day in advance.

Homework

Homework is an important component of language learning, since it is a mechanism for reviewing and reinforcing class work. Homework will most commonly be checked or discussed in class, so late assignments are not accepted. Please check and correct your work as we go over it in class, and ask questions if you don’t understand corrections. On occasion, homework may be collected and graded.

Please check my website for assignments and feel free to e-mail me if you have questions or concerns about an assignment or if you need more explanation.

Make-up assignments

Attendance and participation play a major role in success in 2nd language acquisition. If you are absent, it is your responsibility to find out what you missed either through a classmate, my website, or by talking to me after the next class. I will keep extra handouts in the classroom for absentees. You will be expected to take missed quizzes and tests during the next class period you attend.
