Macromolecule Exploration Project: (50 Points)

Take a note in your INB of the group number and molecule that I assign you in class.

A-Day1: For this mini project, you are the expert teaching us about a macromolecule. You will research your molecule in class on day 1 to answer your assigned question. You will need to include an “appropriate” thinking map of your choice to teach your lesson. Drafts of your maps and assigned jobs(materials, information, scholarly article, supplies) are due on day 1.

B-HW:Finalize your research at home:

Bring any materials you need for your presentations such as: white paper, construction paper, poster paper, ribbon if you want to make a flip book, laptop if you want to create a comic online or a Power Point, bring everything you need, it is part of your grade. You will be working on constructing your lesson and how it is presented on Day 2. You may also want to bring a real life example of something that naturally “has” your molecule or it usually has or if you present your project creatively (something totally different), you will get five bonus extra credit summative points. Each person is expected to bring in an item and explain how it is related to the project.

C-Day 2:HW Check + lesson planning day.
Work on your project collaboratively, make sure all group members can answer all the questions assigned and get ready to share interesting facts. Put your presentation/ project together.

D-Day 3:Rehearsals! Use the rubric to evaluate each other. Rehearse by presenting to each other. Give each other tips and suggestions for improvement. Remember that you will need to professionally dress up for presentation day; it is part of your grade.

E-Day 4:Present! Dress up professionally. You should be ready for any question about your molecule. You are teaching us about it. The class is taking notes about your presentation through tree maps which will be part of their grade. I may also ask the audience some of your questions to check their understanding. So, make sure that as you teach your lesson, you check for understanding.

F-What do I turn in? You are turning in to me
by the end of your presentation:

1- Your poster/ presentation/ creative piece of art, and

2- One copy of your rubric/ assigned questions

3-A scholarly article that you chose as a source (must have at least one).
by the end of all presentations:

1-The tree map you filled out as you took notes on other presentations: colored, neat, bulleted, includes FGQ and FOR.
