Jonathan Batista Is Vice President and Charitable Planning Consultant at Fidelity Charitable

Jonathan Batista is vice president and charitable planning consultant at Fidelity Charitable®, an independent public charity that has helped donors support more than 190,000 nonprofit organizations with nearly $19 billion in grants since its inception in 1991. The mission of Fidelity Charitable is to further the American tradition of philanthropy by providing programs that make charitable giving simple and effective.

In this role, Mr. Batista serves as a premier resource for charitable planning in the Southwest region, where it is his responsibility to build relationships with advisors, enhance their understanding of Fidelity Charitable’s donor-advised fund program and discuss ways to incorporate charitable giving into clients' overall financial and wealth management plans.

In 2011 Mr. Batista joined Fidelity Charitableas a fundraising associate where he supported the national fundraising team and worked with professional advisors to help them simplify their clients’ philanthropy and grow their practices. Mr. Batista also served as a Relationship Manager within Fidelity Charitable’s Private Donor Group, where he provided some of Fidelity Charitable’s most generous donors and their advisors with personalized guidance and education to help them achieve their philanthropic goals.

Before joining Fidelity Charitable, Mr. Batista worked as an outreach coordinator for the Boston Red Sox Foundation, the official charity of the Boston Red Sox that serves the health, education, recreation and social service needs of children and families across New England. In this role, he managed multiple cornerstone programs and initiatives and was responsible for managing sponsor and donor relationships. Mr. Batista began his career at Hill House Boston, where he was a program and sports coordinator.

Mr. Batista received a bachelor of science degree in communication science from Northeastern University where he was captain of the men’s soccer team. He was named one of Northeastern’s 100 Most Influential Seniors and received the Chanda Gunn & Dr. Philip Johnson Community Service Award. Mr. Batista is a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP).
