Main Accountabilities

  • To ensure that Foyer clients receive high quality, inspirational and cost effective services
  • To contribute to the operation of Aberdeen Foyer
  • To work as part of the FoyerTeam providing a co-ordinated asset based, person centred, solution focussed service to ourclients/tenants, which builds on their strengths and enables them to achieve their hopes and aspirations

Key Responsibilities

Clients

  • To motivate,encourage and inspire clients to become confident, aware of their aspirations and to develop Personal Action Plans or Training Plans which will enable them to achieve healthy lifestyles, social and economic independence
  • Ensure that ‘quality’ time is made available to Aberdeen Foyer clientsto continuously monitor and review their progress towards achieving goals which are relevant, realistic and achievable through a person centred, solution focussed action planning process
  • Empowerclients to achieve independent living skills by enabling them to access a range of agreed learning opportunities and practical assistance
  • Assist clients to recognise their ambitions in relation to future employment and to develop a strategy to achieve this through involvement in relevant education, training and work experience
  • Assist clients to recognise how they wish to improve their health and enable them to participate in activities which will achieve their goals
  • Empowerclients to participate in a range of social, recreational and personaldevelopment opportunities/activities
  • To develop and implement a broad range of individual and group work interventions

Internal Liaison

  • Coordinate appropriate internal support and opportunities to enable Aberdeen Foyer clients to achieve the goals they have set themselves, through building on their strengths raising self confidence and self belief
  • Participate fully in all relevant team/other identified meetings

External Liaison

  • Coordinate appropriate external support and opportunities to enable Aberdeen Foyer clients to achieve the goals they have set themselves, through building on their strengths raising self confidence and self belief
  • Liaise with other organisations to provide co-ordinated services to clients/tenants

Recording

  • Record and maintain accurate and timely client/tenant records

Reporting

  • Contribute to the formal reporting arrangements required both internally for example the Foyer Board and externally for example commissioners of services
  • Provide budgeting and administrative information in accordance with Aberdeen Foyer Policy

Quality

  • Contribute positively and effectively to the review and monitoring of services delivered and engage clients in the review process
  • Contribute to the regular review and development of Foyer Policy, standards and programmes to support the achievement of Aberdeen Foyer’s organisational goals

Other

  • To carry out other duties as may be required from time to time that are broadly consistent with but are not included in this job description
  • Assist in the implementation and review of Health and Safety policies and practices
  • Assist in identified inspections, health and safety checks
  • Assist in the recruitment and selection of staff as and when required
  • Provide support/supervision, guidance and information to appointed staff as required
  • Support the identification and implementation of volunteering opportunities and student and employability placements

Learning Services

Additional Duties – Service Specific - Learning Services

  • Promote the Foyer REACH programme and recruit through liaison with external partners such as Jobcentre Plus, Skills Development Scotland, employers and Colleges as necessary.
  • Develop lesson plans to ensure the content of the programme meets the needs of the students and the expected outcomes set out by and as agreed between Aberdeen Foyer and North East Scotland College.
  • Deliver and ensure assessment of City & Guilds units and other informal training as required to meet course objectives and expected learning outcomes.
  • Liaise with community organisations and agencies to plan, prepare and supervise appropriate team projects and individual placements for participants.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the students, taking responsibility for their health, safety and welfare in accordance with Aberdeen Foyer’s Health & Safety Policies.
  • Conduct regular meetings for evaluation, review and assessment with the whole team and on an individual basis.
  • Ensure appropriate administration records are produced and maintained including accurate records of the group and individual’s performance and progress.
  • Deliver activities within agreed budgets ensuring that spending is in line with levels as defined by Aberdeen Foyer.
  • Contribute to the efficient management of Aberdeen Foyer’s delivery partner role by participating in relevant planning, review and evaluation meetings.
  • Undertake other duties as necessary to ensure effective maintenance and development of the team programme.
