JOB TITLE:WAREHOUSE WORKER I

QUALIFICATIONS:Graduation from accredited High School or GED; Possession of a valid LouisianaCommercial Drivers License required.

REPORTS TO:Respective Supervisor (Central Office, Child Nutrition Services)

JOB GOAL:Routine warehouse work in receiving, delivering, stocking, and maintaining inventory of a variety of supplies, materials, and equipment used in the operation and maintenance of the LafayetteParishSchool System.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Works cooperatively with Warehouse Workers in performing daily Warehouse functions.

Assists in preparing warehouse inventory orders for delivery as submitted and delivers orders of supplies, materials, and equipment as scheduled.

Receives deliveries of supplies, materials, and equipment; verifies delivery paperwork,and submits to appropriate supervisor.

Secures appropriate paperwork signatures associated with supplies, materials, and equipment beingpickedup and delivered.

Operates forklifts and pallets jack to load, unload, and store various supplies, materials, andequipment.

Restocks warehouse inventory upon delivery; assists in monthly physical inventory of items and verifies count with supervisor.

Maintains delivery truck fleet in a clean and operable condition;according to established safety rules and regulations.

Travels to deliver and pick up supplies, materials, and equipment as scheduled.

Assists in transferringfurniture, equipment,and fixed assets to and from schools and other LPSS sites.

Assists in the cleaning and maintenance of warehouse buildings and property.

Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS OF WORK

Graduation from accredited high school or GED.

Acceptable experience in warehouse operations which provides the following knowledge, abilities, and skills:

Ability to handle both heavy and delicate equipment and materials in a safe manner.

Ability to learn the operation and maintenance of warehouse equipment such as fork lifts and pallet jacks.

Ability to read, write, and confirm materials shipped as requested.

Ability to follow directions and instructions.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other district personnel.

Knowledge and ability to operate a personal computer.

Knowledge and ability to learn to operate computerized tracking devices.

Ability to comply with established safety rules and regulations.

Possession of a validLouisiana Commercial Driver’s License required.
