Scope of Job:

  • Reporting into the Commercial Catering Team Leaders.
  • A primary function of the role is to ensure that all catering operational areas are running efficiently to high standards through the day.
  • Working hours based on the needs of the business and a work/life balance. These will include weekends, Bank Holidays & evening works to cover the Lookout Lodge experience & events on site.
  • Assist the commercial team, in promoting excellent visitor experience within the commercial areas on site.

Key Objectives:

  • Maintain a high level of customer service at all times.

Main Responsibilities:

1.Operations

  • Ensure any guest facing areas, in all commercial facilities are clean & tidy throughout the shift.
  • Ensure all food contact surface areas are clean and hygienically maintained throughout the shift.
  • Ensure that safe food handling procedures are followed to comply with EHO regulations.
  • Ensure all records, including food wastage & cleaning sheets are completed as required on a daily basis.
  • Meet, greet and inform our guests of the food on offer and wider zoo information at any of the commercial venues.
  • Maintains good up to date knowledge of the Catering offering. Actively promote the steps taken to make us more sustainable.
  • Communicate signage needs or promotional ideas to your line manager.

2.Financial

  • Carries out own work requirements in an organised and efficient manner.
  • Ensures that any items presented on the ‘shop floor’ are correctly handled in line the FSMS, including FIFO.

3.People

  • Actively promotes the department’s vision and values, presenting a professional image at all times, as an ambassador for the Catering department.
  • Be approachable, fun and friendly to all guests and team members at all times.

4. Health & Safety

  • Report any defective equipment to your line manager at once.
  • Ensure unsafe acts or conditionsare reported to your line manager at once.
  • Set a high standard to ensure the safety of you and others around you.
  • Works in a manner with a high regard to personal and others safety
