OVERVIEW

This role will suit a dynamic individual who has experience of managing some of his or her own matters. The firm’s Investment Management practice focuses on private investment fund formation. This includes advising on fundraisings for traditional closed-ended fund products, the restructuring of investment managers and investment advisers, the acquisition of fund management groups, and working with clients to navigate the various regulatory issues affecting investment management matters. The group acts for a broad range of international private equity and other private investment fund sponsors, including buyout, infrastructure, energy, senior and mezzanine debt, real estate, secondaries, and venture funds, as well as funds of funds.

The London funds practice is an integral part of a global, fully integrated Investment Management practice that is one of the leading practices in the world.

RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Providing commercial and legal advice to clients
  • Drafting, reviewing and advising on formations of private equity funds (and managed accounts), including buyout, infrastructure, energy, senior and mezzanine debt, real estate, secondaries, and venture funds, as well as funds of funds, and negotiating with large, sophisticated institutional investors
  • Communicating with clients and local counsel about ongoing matters
  • Contributing to quality know-how

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Hold a law degree from a leading university
  • Relevant experience as well as excellent academics
  • Admitted or to practise as a lawyer in a common law jurisdiction
  • A broad range of experience and a keen interest in investment management and fund formation
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills
  • Business oriented; market savvy
  • Team player; proactive and outgoing; hard working
  • Able to demonstrate an imaginative and commercial approach, combining a high level of awareness in your current field with a commitment to delivering the highest quality standards to our clients.
