JOB OPENING FACT SHEET

POSITION:Center and Education Coordinator

PROGRAM:Head Start / Early Head Start

LOCATION:Central WADI Office, 110 Latham St, PO Box 70, Enfield, IL 62835

REPORTS TO:Head Start / Early Head Start Director

HOURS:Full-Time (36 hours per week); Monday through Thursday. Hours may vary depending on program need.

DUTIES:Monitors and provides guidance to Head Start Center classroom staff, regarding Head Start standards, School Readiness plans, and other quality standards including licensing regulations, Illinois Early Learning Standards and developmentally appropriate practices. Oversees and provides guidance concerning curriculum implementation, data entry for accurate outcome based reports, CLASS observations, and overall assessment with individualization. Coach and monitor center classrooms on CLASS observations for high quality and ongoing improved early childhood education. Assure that teaching staff implement effective strategies to support children’s learning with an emphasis in the areas of early literacy and language development leading to positive outcomes in school readiness.

MINIMUM

QUALIFICATIONSMust have a Bachelor degree in Early Childhood or related field with some Early Childhood coursework. Must have 3 or more years experience in Early Childhood Education settings and prefer supervisory experience. Must obtain CLASS observation certification by a reasonable date determined by the HS/EHS Director, based on CLASS training availability.

*Holiday pay will be awarded to all eligible employees for the times they would normally and routinely have been scheduled to work. (Employees who have completed 30 calendar days of service.)

**Benefits start accruing after successful completion of the 90 day introductory period.

PAY INFO: Starting Wage $11.25 per hour*

Starting Wage for Associate Degree $11.89 per hour*

Starting Wage for Bachelors Degree $12.53per hour*

*After successful completion of the 90 day Introductory Period there is a $1.00 per hour raise. Paid every other Thursday with mileage checks issued the Friday after payday.
