IT SYSTEMS SUPPORT PERSONNEL REQUIRED FOR PA WEATHERCENTRE

Do you have an IT background and want a bright outlook in the weather industry? PA WeatherCentre has a vacancy available for an IT Systems Support Analyst.

PA WeatherCentre (PAWC) is the UK's leading independent supplier ofweather information. It is a rapidly expanding and vibrant company which provides a range of products and services to weather critical andweather sensitive markets. In addition to supplying page-ready forecastpanels to the majority of the UK's regional and national newspapers,PAWC has also demonstrated considerable success in many other marketsectors in recent years.

A joint venture between The Press Association, the national news agencyfor the UK and Ireland, and Meteo Consult BV, PAWC was established in1997. It benefits from the extensive commercial and meteorologicalexperience and expertise of its staff and parent companies. PAWC andMeteo Consult both offer wide and varied experience in the provision of"packaged" weather services and bespoke meteorological informationsolutions.

The position of IT Systems Support Anaylst will involve working closelywith the other members of staff within the PAWC, in order to maintain and expand the hardware, software and network infrastructure of the company. This will also include helping to design and develop user systems and interfaces.

Applicants should be aware that an excellent knowledge of MS Windows (2000 onwards), standard MS Office applications and general network theory (TCP/IP, DNS etc.) are essential requirements of the role. Also required are qualifications to degree level (or equivalent).

In addition, at least one years experience working in a support role in a complex environment is desirable as is a working knowledge of Unix and shell scripting (Perl), Apple Mac skills (OS9/OSX) and Visual Basic.

Finally, the position will require an element of periodic on-call support.

Successful candidates can expect an attractive remuneration packagetogether with a generous pension scheme and 25 days holiday per annum.You will also receive training in certain areas of IT support and development as necessary, and have the opportunity of developing your skills within a dynamic and rapidly expanding organisation. You have the advantage of working in a London location.
