After a decade-long absence from the Tour, two-timeOlympic Silver Medallist, three-timeWorld Champion, and seven-timeCanadian ChampionElvis Stojkois returning to Canada’s premier figure skating tour, Investors Group Stars on Ice presented by Lindt.
Sincehis last Stars on Iceperformance in 2006, Stojko was inducted into theOntario Sports Hall of Fame; wrote a book about his career called "Heart and Soul;" played smooth-talking lawyer Billy Flynn in a production of “Chicago, the Musical;” released an album; became a professional Go-Kart racer;won a Kung Fu championship; andmarried Mexican figure skaterGladys Orozco.Yet despite that insanely busy plate, Stojko’s love for figure skating has brought him back to Stars on Ice.
Elvis will join a star-studded ensemble of Canada’s most beloved skatersin the Investors Group Stars on Ice presented by Lindt2016Tour.This annual award winning tourwill visit 12 cities nationwide beginning in Halifax, NS on Friday, April 29thand wrapping up in Victoria, BC on Saturday, May 21st. Investors Group Stars on Ice presented by Lindt continues to be a pioneer in figure skating by offering Canadian fans the rare opportunity to witness some of the country’s most accomplished and artistically gifted champions performing together in both individual and ensemble routines.This year’s cast is a who’s who of Canadian figure skating including2010 Olympic Gold Medallists, two-time World Champions and six-time Canadian ChampionsTessa Virtue & Scott Moir; three-time World Champion, 2014 Olympic Silver Medallist, and seven-time Canadian ChampionPatrick Chan; 2015 World Champions, 2014 Olympic Silver Medallists, and reigning four-timeCanadian Champions MeaganDuhamel & Eric Radford;Olympic Bronze Medallist and six-time Canadian Champion Joannie Rochette;Olympic Bronze Medallist, World Champion and three-time Canadian Champion Jeffrey Buttle; and 2015 Canadian Champions and two-time World Medallists Kaitlyn Weaver & Andrew Poje.
