International Trade and Cultural Literacy

Information:

1) All students who are interested in the Study Tour (August 18-September 1) must submit an application package. Qualifying students will be invited to an interview with a panel of professors. After all the interviews are completed, we will notify the students who have been selected to go on the trip.

Application packages must include the following: (a) the application form, (b) a 500-word Statement of Interest, (c) a current resume, and (d) a current unofficial transcript.

Please submit your completed application package to Karen Walo, Undergraduate Program Coordinator, Hagey Hall Room 313 by the 4 pm deadline on April10, 2017. After hours, you may submit your application package to Karen’s Dropbox located in the Department of Political Science (Hagey Hall, 3rd Floor).

INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

2) Students interested in traveling to Israel should carefully consider (i) whether they are likely to be able to get a visa for travel, and (ii) whether having an Israeli visa in their passport will hinder their ability to travel to other parts of the world they may wish to visit.

3) The cost of this trip, in addition to tuition costs for this course, will be between $750 and $1000 (not including personal travel expenses for souvenirs, gifts, snacks, some meals, etc.).

Your essay should consist of a carefully written statement that is 500 words in length and double-spaced. Be sure to outline what it is that you would like to learn on an organized trip to Israel that is focused on international trade and cultural literacy, as well as what skills, interests, and experiences you will bring to this group experience. Be sure to write about relevant travel, extracurricular and employment experiences as well as your academic and career goals.
