Purpose: AvitallinkinTheFoodChain,theDietitianisourin-houseexpert,ensuringthateachandeveryoneofthehundreds ofpeoplewesupporteveryyeargetsthecorrectnutritionalsupporttohelpthemgetwell,staywellandliveindependently. Youwillensureourprocessesallowustoidentifytherightpeople,andgettherightlevelofsupportandeducationtothem,attherighttime. AsthefirstandregularpointofcontactforreferrersaswellasserviceusersyouwillhaveagoodknowledgeofnutritionforpeoplelivingwithHIV.
KeyActivitiesAccountabilities:

Toprovideserviceuserfocusednutritionalsupport

  • Tocoordinatethereferralprocessinaccordancewithorganizationalprocedures
  • Toimplementthereferralprocessandensureallreferralsareprocessedinatimelymanner
  • TointerpretinformationprovidedtodeterminetheappropriateservicesforthosereferredtousoToengagewithserviceuserstounderstandtheirnutritionalneeds,andagreepersonalgoalsoToensureserviceusersaresupportedtomeetagreedoutcomes

TomanagethenutritionknowledgewithintheCharity

  • Tokeepaccuraterecordsofreferrals,outcomesandachievements;andtoreportontrendsoTosupportandsupervisenutritionvolunteersonadailybasistocasemanageserviceusersoToimpartHIVnutritionknowledgeacrosstheorganisationtostaffandvolunteers
  • Tomakerecommendationsastowhereimprovementscanbemadetoservicesorreferral
  • Tohelpshapeanyfuturedevelopmentstonutritionalneedandcontentofservices
  • Tobeawareofandrevieworganisationalproceduresandpolicies
  • To help identify projects for dietetic students on placement and oversee their progress
  • Toworkcollaborativelywithinasmallstaffteamwithdailyvolunteers

  • Toprovideadviceandanswerstowrittenandverbalnutritionqueriesfromallstakeholders

  • To deliver nutrition talks to groups of service users in our kitchen and other organisations
