Purchasing Interact-AS
There are 3 avenues for purchasing the Interact-AS:
1. I want to first give it a try: For $49 you get a noise cancelling microphone headset that plugs into the computer and a 30-day trial of all of the features of Interact-AS (purchase order, credit card or PayPal). At the end of your trial you can upgrade to a permanent license. Even if you do not decide to purchase the license, as a thanks for trying Interact-AS the headset is yours to keep.
2. I’d like to have a system personalized for my needs: Complete a REQUEST FOR QUOTE form that describes your situation. With that information we will customize an Interact-AS system tailored to your needs and send you a complete price quotation.
3. I know what I want and am ready to make a purchase: Purchase a permanent license of Interact-AS right away along with any additional microphones. Please note that once you have opened the software or the microphones they cannot be returned, traded in, or refunded (purchase order, credit card, PayPal). Purchases in Minnesota will add 7.275% sales tax.
School Purchasing
Interact-AS Professional Edition can be purchased by schools in the U.S. or Canada via the following process (customers from other countries please inquire) – NOTE: the first 2 steps are optional.
1. Fax (480-393-4331) or email () a REQUEST FOR QUOTE Form. This allows your selection of features to be reviewed to ensure you receive the products needed to meet the student’s needs
2. Your QUOTE will be returned to you within 7 days of receipt of the Request for Quote form by Supporting Success for Children with Hearing Loss. During this period the contact person you list may be telephoned to discuss potential questions related to your situation.
3. Submit a purchase order per your school district’s usual process.
a) If your student or staff will be using the Interact-AS for a 30-day trial period then the purchase order can be for the $49 purchase price. You will be invoiced at the start of the trial period. At the end of the 30 day trial period if the school district decides to purchase the Interact-AS then another purchase order is needed to purchase the permanent license. NOTE: this may interrupt use of the Interact-AS software due to PO processing/ordering delays.
b) If your student or staff will be using the Interact-AS for a 30-day trial period then the purchase order can reflect the full price of the Interact-AS system. You will receive 2 invoices at the start of the trial period.If the Interact-AS permanent license is not purchased the school district will pay $49 at the end of the 30 day trial period. If the school district decides to purchase a permanent license then the full price of the Interact-AS will be paid at the end of 30 days. A contact person will need to contact Supporting Success for Children with Hearing Loss prior to the end of the 30-day trial period so that the permanent license and optional microphone(s), if desired, can be delivered in a timely manner to prevent service delays.
4. Payment on all purchase orders must be received bySupporting Success for Children with Hearing Losswithin 45 days of the invoice date. A 30-day net payment has been extended to 45-day net to allow for trial periods.

Requires a PC computer with 4 GB of RAM and i5 processing speed or faster. Will not run on a Macintosh. MSRP is $795 – there is a $40 price reduction when you purchase through Supporting Success. Quantity pricing available when purchased at one time: buy 4 licenses and get 1 free; by 8 and get 2 free. District-wide licenses are also available.

Language translation requires access to the Internet. Anything said, typed or written in English will be translated, displayed in text and in most cases also said aloud in the second language. To make a transcription of what was said requires a Direct Language Module in the specific language. Only applies at the time the permanent license is purchased. The Consumer Edition includes a permanent license of Interact-AS CE software for a single PC computer, 3 speaker accounts, a headset microphone (plugs into computer), and free software upgrades for one year. One key difference is the Professional Edition includes Auditory Sciences’ speech recognition engine which has been optimized for conversational speech, whereas the Consumer Edition uses Microsoft’s speech recognition engine. The Consumer Edition requires a PC computer with 1 GB of RAM (2 recommended) using a Microsoft XP or newer processing system. Will not run on a Macintosh. The Consumer Edition, by law, can only be purchased by individuals. It is not legal for purchase by businesses or school districts.

This microphone has been adapted for optimal use with the Interact-AS speech-to-text translation software for situations in which the speaker/teacher will be in the same room, but often more than 2 feet distant. Samson Airline headworn microphone with mute button, Airline receiver, the recharging station, and a customized cable to connect the wireless receiver to the analog port of your computer. Please note that this wireless receiver (plugs into computer) is very small in size (2.3″ x 1.7″ x 0.5″), you can carry it and use it anywhere. Comes in a carrying case. Moisture resistant to allow for quick cleaning with a babywipe before handing to the next teacher.Unadapted version of the microphone will not produce same results.
Tabletop/desktop microphone $299.00 + $9.95 S/H = $308.95
The tabletop microphone is plugged into your PC computer. It has a detachable boom microphone for passing among a few people seated close together. Push button modes: press to talk and lock to always on. Frequency response 80-20,000 Hz. Can pick up speech from up to 20 feet, but for best translation accuracy speakers need to be within 4 inches. Powered by the USB port of your computer and also plugged in to the microphone port on your computer.
