To log in to the calendar, go to

There is a link to this manual on that page. Follow the link that says “Click here to log in to the calendar”.

You will see the following screen. Until you log in with a valid username and password, none of the calendars will be visible to you. Click ‘Login’.

Enter the username and password provided to you.

Click the ‘Login’ button.

This is the ‘Home’ screen. To access a particular calendar, click on the name of the computer you wish to use. Click on the links in the Description field to find out more about the location of these computers. Use the ‘User Options’ link to change your password or email notification address.

To schedule time on a computer or microscope, click on the name of the device you wish to use. The calendar looks like this:

You will be able to view all scheduled events on a particular calendar, but you are only able to edit your own. To schedule an event, move the mouse over the time on the calendar you want to schedule and double click. The Add Event window will pop up.

Select the date and time of your event, and PLEASE write a short description that includes your full name, email, and phone number in the “Enter text for a new event”. This will allow other microscope users to contact you if the need arises. You may send an email notification to other researchers if you wish and you may also set up an email reminder for yourself. Simply choose the interval before the event at which you would like to be notified and enter your email address.

Let’s go back to the calendar:

Let’s say user bob has decided to change the time during which he will use the Volocity workstation. To edit and event you have already created, click on the ‘Add/Edit’ link in the right bottom of the screen.

All of the events that user bob has scheduled will appear at the top of the screen. Click the ‘Edit’ button next to the event you wish to change. The ‘Edit Event’ form is the same as the ‘Add Event’ form.

Always remember to log out when you are done!
