Dear Official,

Chelmsford Sport & Athletics centre are organising a number of events in 2016 and are recruiting officials early.

Last year we ran our sixth small Indoor Mini-Competition for 8 – 13yrs old in a number of track and field events.The event slightly changed by reducing the number of youngster events and adding U13’s and U15’s events to make it more of an indoor openand over 120 athletes took part.

The Chelmsford Open and the Throws festivals had 500 athletes altogether from across the region taking part in a number of events in April 2012. These eventsare now an established and important curtain raiser to the track and field season, and its success is entirely dependant on the officials and volunteers who assist with the event on the day. With the new Throws Cage outside the arena we are combining these events together for a 1 day Open Meeting which we will be repeating this yearon Saturday 26th March.

In replacement of the Friday activities, we hosted a new Pole Vault Festival which saw over 25 athletes take part. The Pole Vault Festival will be returning on Friday 25th March.

We would like to ask whether you would be available to officiate on the above dates. As a token of our appreciation, all officials and helpers will receive refreshments at various stages of the day and the centre will also cover travel expenses to come down to officiate at these events.
