Imagine that you have applied for a $1,000 scholarship. You have been provided with the name and company of the person offering the scholarship., As with all interviews, it would be wise for you to research a little about the company or organization so that you are able to carry on an informed conversation if time allows.

  • Interviewers will be set up in the gymnasium at tables. They will have signs with their names on the tables, so you may find them easily. Enter and exit the gym quietly- there are other interviews taking place!
  • Each interview should last approximately 10 minutes.
  • There are 5 minutes between interviews for interviewers to give you feedback & fill out an evaluation form
  • You will turn in your portfolio (with updated cover letter and resume) when you arrive for the interview
  • You will receive your evaluation form when you get your portfolio back from me
  • Interviewers will select from the common interview questions provided to you, but will also incorporate in a creative question of their own

This person has been helpful to you! Do not be skimpy with your letter.

In this paragraph, write a few lines to say specifically what you learned in the course of the interview. Again, this person helped you with your project; be specific and thank him or her for the specific things he or she did!

Close with a general statement of appreciation such as “Your help has really made a difference in my research paper and my graduation project, and I am truly grateful” or “I am very excited about working with you as my mentor in the next phase of my project.”
