HUMAN RESOURCES VOLUNTEER INTERNSHIP

The Human Resources Volunteer Internshipis designed for students interested in pursuing a career in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Management. This is a great opportunity for work experience as well as credit for school!

As a human resources volunteer intern, you will be assigned projects in the Human Resources Department, providing assistance in the areas of Staffing, Position Management,Labor Relations and Pay and Benefits. Projects may include research, inputting information into data systems, filing, drafting operating procedures and developing documents. You may be tasked with assisting with special events, training and attending meetings. You must be computer literate. You must be comfortable using information systems to develop documents in Microsoft Word, Works, Excel, Access and Power Point. Requirements:

This opportunity is open to sophomores, juniors, seniors and graduate students. A variety of majors qualify including Human Resources, Business, Administration and others in the field. Participants must haveexcellent written and verbal communication abilities;have good computer skills, anda professional and positive attitude.Students must be able to meet the minimum time commitment, 10 – 20 hours/week. If selected, you will be required to complete an agreement with the school and the U.S. Department of Labor stating the conditions of the internship. This is a non-paidfor-credit onlyor experience internship.

ELIGIBILITY

1. Must meet the definition of “student,” as set forth in 5 CFR 308.101, i.e. must be currently enrolled not less than half time in an accredited educational institution, such as a high school, trade school, technical or vocational institute, junior college, or college. GPA of 3.0 preferred.

2. Must meet any applicable Federal, State, or local laws governing the employment of minors, if he/she is a minor. The minimum age requirement for employment in the Federal service is 16 years of age.

3. Must be eligible to be employed in the United States under the immigration laws and regulations.
