How Do I Know If I Have a Safety Switch

TENANT CLEANING CHECKLIST

The below cleaning checklist is a guide only

To avoid cleaning charges and unnecessary deductions from your bond, it’s in your best interest to ensure that following items are attended to, before returning the keys/vacating the property.

GENERAL

All exhaust events throughout the property to be clean and dust free

Venetian blinds to be wiped down thoroughly (if applicable)

Flyscreens to be removed carefully and hosed or brushed to remove dirt/dust (if applicable)

Windows and windowsills to be cleaned thoroughly throughout – vacuum window tracks

Doors and doorframes to be left clean and undamaged throughout – vacuum door tracks

Marks to be removed from walls, powerpoints and light switches throughout

Cobwebs to be removed from ceiling cornices and walls

All light fittings to be cleaned and free from insects – gently remove

All floors and skirting boards to be washed removing any marks

All ceiling fans throughout to be free from dust (if applicable)

Ensure Air Conditioning filters have been cleaned

Clean all mirrors throughout including wardrobe door mirrors (if applicable)

Clean carpets by registered carpet cleaner to Australian Standards. Supply copy of receipt.

Fumigate for fleas – by registered pest company, if pets were kept at property. Supply copy of receipt showing service details.

KITCHEN

The oven and griller is to be cleaned. Drip trays to be cleaned of all grease.

Rangehood to be cleaned including the filters (where applicable).

All cupboards to be cleaned inside and out (don’t forget the tops of the cupboards).

Sink and taps to be cleaned and polished.

Walls and tiled areas to be free from grease.

All benches and floors to be cleaned.

The dishwasher is to be left clean. Wipe over internal door and removed debris from bottom drainer (if applicable).

BATHROOM

Shower recess to be scrubbed and free of soap residue.

Grouting to be free of all soap residue or mould.

Shower screen to be cleaned with all soap residue removed.

All plugholes are to be clean and free from hair.

Mirrors to be wiped over.

All drawers and cupboards to be cleaned inside and out.

All tapware and towel rails to be cleaned.

Toilet to be cleaned thoroughly, including bowl, seat and cistern.

LAUNDRY

Clean behind, inside and around washing machine alcove.

Clean inside, outside and behind dryer. Remove lint (if applicable).

Clean inside, outside and around laundry tub, cabinets, shelves, drawers, tapware.

BALCONY AND DECKS

Sweep and mop, clean railings, glass and light fittings.

Remove all cobwebs.

GARAGE, CARPORT, DRIVEWAY

Sweep and remove any oil residue from concrete, pavers, paths and driveways.

Remove all cobwebs from ceilings and under eaves.

GARDENS AND LAWNS

Mow lawn, trim all edges, weed gardens and remove all rubbish.

Empty & wash out council binsand place bins on footpath for collection.

TIPS & TRICKS
  • Pouring some liquid chlorine down a toilet will lift any stubborn stains.
  • Baby wipes are great for cleaning skirting boards or window tracks.
  • Leave the oven cleaner overnight to get rid of any stubborn stains or baked on grime.
  • Do not put rubber backed curtains in a washing machine.
  • Cotton buds work well on wardrobe and window tracks.
  • Sugar Soap & Gumption can get rid of almost any kind of mark, just make sure you wipe it over with water.
  • Plain Colgate toothpaste is great for stubborn scuff marks
