The Volunteer of the Year Award recognizes tenured volunteer involvement with Houston Grand Opera and the Houston Grand Opera Guild. This award acknowledges the recipient’s ability to be innovative and flexible. The Volunteer of the Year demonstrates insight, organizational expertise and leadership over a sustained period of time. Recipients of this award have been willing to step in and create solutions or meet special needs of the Guild and Opera programs and projects. Because of this volunteer's efforts in a number of initiatives, the Houston Grand Opera has benefited in numerous ways.

They may not be members of Houston Grand Opera Guild, yet their singular contributions to the success of HGO Guild or Houston Grand Opera during the year deserve recognition.
