The successful ZOOM collection is extended by 20 new material and decor versions that can be experienced.
“Experience the difference” – with this challenge, EGGER presented the 2014 ZOOM innovations for the first time at EuroShop. The successful distributor collection has been expanded by twenty decors in seven striking textures. Six of the surface textures were newly developed. Based on highly modern technologies, the innovations with surface textures that can be felt, seen and experienced represent a whole new generation of products and promise maximum expressiveness for the user.
The 2014 ZOOM innovations are far more than just a complement to the existing collection with 270 decors to date. In fact they are truly evolutionary as Hubert Höglauer, Head of Marketing EGGER Group, explains: “The ZOOM innovations are accompanied by a whole new generation of surfaces that combine the best of two worlds. The special depth of the surface texture results in an entirely new product experience that is both visual and tactile. This is the next generation of melamine faced boards in the perfection of appearance.”
Design and performance
The new developments follow the further development of technologies – for example the ability to press synchronised pore surfaces on both sides – and current design trends. Verena Michels, Design and Decor Management EGGER Group: “The innovations complement the ZOOM Collection with material and decor characteristics that can be experienced. For example, we are picking up on the general trend in favour of authentic and striking types of wood and wood reproductions with the new decor series Gladstone Oak or with Jackson Pine. We are meeting the uni colour trend for furniture with reddish-warm grey with a matt look and a warm feel. With the decor series Tortona and the Feelwood Elegance synchronised pore surface, with the Painted Wood texture on uni colours as well as the discreet wood reproduction Orleans Oak, we are responding to the sustained, popular trend of elegant naturalness.”
With the 2014 ZOOM innovations fitters, cabinetmakers and shop fitters are provided with a source of inspiration and great design flexibility. Customer requirements can be met with individual designs. With the product characteristics of melamine faced boards (such as scratch resistance, colour fidelity for the entire lifespan of furniture, and easy cleaning), they offer the highest quality with a perfect natural look and feel.
Synchronised pore with character
The new synchronised pore surfaces on both sides with the name “Feelwood” represent a previously unachieved perfection in the interplay of the decor and surface. Each of the three synchronised pores among the ZOOM innovations unfolds its own unique character.
Feelwood Elegance ST27 features a timeless-modern character and fills the room with a light and elegant naturalness. The elegance and synchronicity of the texture emphasises the effect of the Tortona decor. In finely structured furniture and clear lines, the perfect authenticity of the material unfolds its full effect.
Feelwood Nature ST28 on the other hand makes one feel astonishingly close to nature. Knots, planks and the impression of solid wood give a room an authentic and original feel. The texture of its matt wood pore is synchronised with the printing image of Gladstone Oak and emphasises the sandblasted character of the oak decor.
Finally, Feelwood Ambiance ST29combines an air of grandeur with naturalness.With its matt-gloss effects, the synchronised pore emphasises the course of the large florets in the decor image, also creating a tactile effect.With large cathedrals it is ideal for large applications to create a tasteful, sophisticated feel.
Expressive textures
The four additional surfaces in the 2014 ZOOM innovations transform powerful wood and material reproductions into a tactile experience, giving furnishings an individual character.
Painted Wood ST26 puts a fresh coat of paint on the naturalness of wood, bringing nature and design together. This surface is based on pine wood with an opaque coating as the model. It perfectly unfolds its effect on uni colours such as Stone Grey and Premium White. The interplay of linear and lively sections gives the surface a natural appearance.
Brushed Wood ST36 on the other hand follows the trend in favour of strongly brushed surfaces for solid wood. Here the surface combines the raw with a timeless elegance and exclusive touch. The irregular and very deep texture, combined with a matt appearance, creates an incredibly natural, authentic and premium finish.
Ceramic ST87 in turn stands for the new materiality of rusty metal or ceramics. On the decor of the same name, the texture creates an entirely new impression. The pronounced matt-gloss effects simulate the surface and feel of a ceramic plate which also features a visual and haptic depth.
Perfect Matt ST9 establishes a pleasant atmosphere that invites cosy moments. The matt surface with a very low gloss level comes to bear extremely well on warm, trendy uni colours such as Cashmere, Vino and Truffle. Thanks to low reflection, the colours appear particularly natural.
Inspiring campaign
The introductory campaign for the 2014 ZOOM innovations counts on emotions. To this end, our video clip (which you can watch at the brochure with novelties, as well as the EuroShop trade fair booth use a white landscape of cubes, reveals Heike Kiesling, Head of Marketing Furniture and Interior Design, the EGGER Group. "At first, these cubes create a neutral surface. The heights and depths of the cubic objects mirror the heights and depths of structures. In addition, large cubes embody the decorums of the respective character worlds. These intentionally reduced impressions and the avoidance of concrete applications have the purpose of leaving a lot of room for inspiration, and allowing designers to entirely submerge themselves in the character worlds of the ZOOM novelties."
The message for architects, planners, designers, and handlers is: "Experience the difference." And this difference can be experienced both optically and haptically in the decorum novelties, as well as through the ZOOM services.

For designers, the ZOOM Collection not only means product quality and decor expertise – it means a comprehensive service package. All innovations are embedded in the decor and material combination system of the ZOOM Collection. The decors are coordinated from the coreboards to the edging and available worldwide over the long term since the ZOOM Collection runs until 2016.
True to the ZOOM motto “The Everyday Resource”, EGGER is available to its customers daily around the clock with its contact persons in field service, the ZOOM Hotline, the EGGER samples shop and the comprehensive offering of online information. With the Virtual Design Studio (VDS PROFI) planners can easily visualise their ideas for more success in their sales consultations with customers. Highly durable compact laminate with a design-oriented white core, acoustically effective elements with custom perforations, EUROLIGHT lightweight building boards that support the integration of electronics and lighting thanks to their sandwich structure – the product range of the wood-based material manufacturer EGGER is ideal for equipping premium retail stores and building high-quality exhibition stands. Here the focus is on design and functionality in equal measure. All coreboards are available in the decor match system of the ZOOM Collection.
It is design-oriented, versatile in application and also very durable. It is suitable for applications subject to high demands and even for use in moisture-prone areas. We are talking about compact laminate, an ideal material provided by EGGER to architects and planners for high-end furniture and discerning designs. The board is comprised of decorative papers coated with melamine and several core layers impregnated with phenolic resin. In addition to black, design-oriented white is now also available as a core colour. On the decor side, all decors from the ZOOM Collection can be offered. The offering is complemented by a thickness range of 3 to 13 mm (0.12” to 0.51”) and a wide variety of texture options. This new product is therefore also part of the EGGER decor and texture combinations, enabling the designer to offer a uniform design and surface concept with the use of many different coreboards.
Versatile compact laminate
Notwithstanding its low thickness, compact laminate is sturdy and self-supporting. The homogenous board material permits uncomplicated processing and convinces with its edge finish and design. Thanks to its longevity and durability, the boards are suitable for interior applications with high loads. With their robustness, they support shop and showroom design as well as the interior design of offices and kitchens. Here the high strength of the material permits elegant work surfaces or tables with thin dimensions. Compact laminate is also used in moisture-prone areas. With convincing impact resistance and bending strength combined with excellent resistance to moisture, compact laminate is also used for wall panelling and partition walls in public areas. EGGER also offers compact laminate in a low flammability quality upon request.
Lightweight shop fitting solutions
The EUROLIGHT lightweight building board stands for a variety of individual design possibilities, especially for shop fitting and exhibition stands. Its composition of thin chipboard surface layers and a kraft paper honeycomb core in the centre not only makes it up to 60% lighter than conventional boards, but also supports the concealed integration of electronic components.
Thanks to the sandwich structure of the boards, the days of exposed cables are numbered. By installing all wiring in the honeycomb core, the integration of electronic components in furniture is made invisible. EUROLIGHT boards therefore offer a straightforward and attractive solution for lighting systems, outlets, charging stations, speakers and even iPod docking stations. Especially for shop fitting the faster speed of installation and the degree of prefabrication are also crucial in terms of the commitment to lightweight building.
Acoustics meets lighting and design
The acoustically effective solutions demonstrated by EGGER in Düsseldorf using images with custom perforations, lighted ceiling panels and the acoustic box are intended for sound optimisation and simultaneously as design elements.
In cooperation with its partner akustik+, EGGER is the only manufacturer to offer acoustically effective boards with a perforation grid of ≥4/4/1.5 mm (≥0.16”/0.16”/0.06”). Customers can place orders with any motif of their choice, which is then transferred to the acoustically effective elements using precisely positioned bore holes and changing hole diameters.
These acoustically effective products from EGGER are used in wall panelling or partition walls with graphical motifs, and in ceiling applications and ceiling systems which can also be equipped with the LED auriLUX lighting system. Thanks to the interior high-power LEDs, these elements provide brilliant and glare-free light with the ability to regulate the colour temperature. Recyclable components, energy-efficient lighting technology, renewable raw materials and quicksilver-free illuminants make the system particularly sustainable and environmentally friendly.
silent, warm, ecological
EGGER rounds out its wide range of products with its pleasantly silent and warm cork+ flooring. The revised EGGER cork+ flooring collection combines the advantages of cork as a natural product with the functionality of laminate flooring. With cork+ technology, the decor and surface are applied to the special cork material using a direct printing process. This results in floor boards with trendy woodgrain decors and a perfectly fitting designer surface, visually appearing like laminate flooring. The difference is revealed in the feel and in acoustics: Impact and ambient sound are optimised, the flooring feels warm and soft.
EGGER places great trust in sustainable and functional cork+ flooring. This is why the product has been continuously revised, new decors developed and the product characteristics improved. The flooring in the new collection has been certified according to the prEN 16511 standard in usage Class 31, so that it can also be used for commercial applications such as hotel rooms.
