Swimming

Objective: All Young People To Have Access To High Quality Teaching & Learning & Competitive Opportunities In Swimming

1. Curriculum
All young people to achieve the requirements of the national curriculum by the end of Key Stage 2 /
  • All young people will have had the opportunity to participate in national curriculum swimming by the end of year 5/6
  • Opportunities will be available in year 6 for those young people requiring further support

  • All schools to be informed of these requirement. The award to be renewed every two years with the opportunity for annual refresher sessions.

6.5.Competitive Opportunities
Support the development of competitive pathways through the Hampshire School Swimming Association – the national competition framework and – club links /

  • Work with the HSSA to develop competitive opportunities including KS2 galas and area aquatic events
