The ACS-Hach High School Chemistry Grant was established to promote dynamic and engaging scientific exploration in students. It is awarded to high school teachers who wish to enhance classroom learning and raise students’ interest in chemistry. Funds can be used to purchase laboratory equipment, supplies and instructional materials, but also the cost of professional development opportunities, field studies and science outreach events. /
AIAA Foundation Classroom Grant Program / STEM Education / The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronauts is dedicated to the importance of STEM education and awards $200 in grants to K-12 teachers who want to incorporate new ways of teaching science, technology, education and mathematics into their classroom. Funds can be used to purchase laboratory equipment, math and science software, robotics supplies, and other items that will add depth and dimension to your lessons. /
Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellowship Program / STEM Professional Development / This grant is an excellent and unique professional development opportunity for K-12 teachers who have at least five years of experience teaching in STEM subjects. STEM educators participate in 10- or 11-month positions in federal agencies or U.S. congressional offices across the country, during which time they are given the chance to have a direct impact on education programming, policy and reform efforts. American Turkish Society Curriculum Development Grant / Curriculum Development (Turkey) / Launched in 2010, The American Turkish Society’s Curriculum Development Grants offer funds to elementary and secondary school teachers in the United States for the development of innovative curricula related to Turkey. The program aims to enhance teachers’ and students’ knowledge and understanding of Turkey and develop a repository of effective practice to teach about the country. The program has expanded to include teacher workshops in Turkey hosted by SEV (Health and Education Foundation) at SEV schools in Istanbul, Izmir, and Tarsus. Grants range for $250 to $2500, and cover the costs of research, materials, speakers, and other expenses.Grantees have the opportunity to be chosen for an expenses-paid trip to Turkey to engage in educational and cultural exchange. /
Bank of America Foundation / Early Childhood, School Readiness, Financial Literacy, & Literacy / The Bank of America Foundation funds, as its primary focus, education projects; particularly those that deal with early childhood education, school readiness programs, financial education, teacher preparation and certification, and literacy. The Foundation does not directly fund private or public K-12 schools. Bank of America also funds health and human services, arts and culture, and community development projects under its Community Catalyst Grants. All requests for funding should be submitted to local Bank of America offices. Organizations located in Arizona, Arkansas, California, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington are eligible to participate in Bank of America Foundation’s grant program. Those interested in applying for a grant should send their Bank of America local senior banking executive a brief introductory letter. There are no application deadlines. /
Beacon Society / The Jan Stauber Grant / Literacy / Library / Media Center / ​​Since 2004, the Beacon Society has provided grants to U.S. and Canadian teachers, librarians, Sherlockian literary societies to fund the development of a project that will introduce young people to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s stories about his famous fictional detective, Sherlock Holmes.The grants provide up to $500 to creative teachers and librarians in the USA since 2004 and Canada since 2012. For example, in 2015, fifteen projects were funded, and in 2016, ten projects were funded.Previous awardees have used Sherlock Holmes to teach English, literature, history, mathematics, deductive reasoning, forensics, and critical thinking to students from elementary through high school. /

Butler-Cooley Excellence in Teaching Awards / Honors Teachers / Established in 2004 with a grant from the John Wm. Butler Foundation, Inc., the Butler-Cooley Excellence in Teaching Awards Program honors teachers who have demonstrated their capacity to change the outcome of students’ lives and the communities where they teach. The program is named in honor of Leslie Bender Butler and Cindy Butler Cooley, relatives of a past TMA chairman who collectively have spent more than 50 years as teachers, and recognizes the central role that teaching has in the life of the association.The award consists of a $5,000 cash prize and covers transportation and lodging for TMA Annual Convention. /
Champion Creatively Alive Children / Creative Leadership / The 2017 program provides grants for innovative, creative leadership team building within elementary/middle schools. Delta Education/Frey-Neo/CPO Science Education Awards for Excellence in Inquiry-Based Science Teaching / STEM Education / his is a grant offered by the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) to recognize the outstanding efforts of teachers to implement an inquiry-based approach to science education that stimulates interest and exploration in students. The grant covers up to $1,500 in travel expenses to attend the NSTA national conference, as well as $1,500 for use in the classroom. Dollar General Literacy Grants / Literacy / Beyond Words: The Dollar General School Library Relief Program—The Beyond Words program, administered by the American Association of School Librarians (AASL), benefits public school libraries recovering from major disasters. Summer Reading Grants provide funding to local nonprofit organizations and libraries to help with the implementation or expansion of summer reading programs. Programs must target Pre-K through 12th-grade students who are new readers, below grade level readers or readers with learning disabilities.
Youth Literacy Grants provide funding to schools, public libraries, and nonprofit organizations to help students who are below grade level or experiencing difficulty reading. Grant funding is provided to assist in the following areas: implementing new or expanding existing literacy programs, purchasing new technology or equipment to support literacy initiatives, and purchasing books, materials or software for literacy programs. /
Emerging Teacher-Leaders in Elementary School Mathematics Grants / STEM Education / The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NTCM) offers this grant for math teachers in grades PreK through 5 who have demonstrated a commitment to strengthening their own teaching methods and applying innovative new ides to their classrooms. Applicants must have the support of their principals and be members of NCTM. Funds may be used for professional development, including college coursework, fees associated with attendance at national conferences and material resources. /
Environmental Education Association of South Carolina Mini Grant / Environment / EEASC grants, up to $300, are available to formal and informal educators to further environmental education and environmental literacy. Frances R Dweing Foundation / Innovation / Frances R. Dewing Foundation -The FRD Foundation is a small, nonprofit, charitable organization that supports innovative ways of teaching young children. The monies of the FRD Foundation are used to provide “seed money” for the intellectual stimulations of young children. Specifically, only projects for children age 2 through 6th grade are funded. Approximately 20 to 30 grants are made each year and range from $1,000 to $20,000, averaging $5,000. Those projects that may lead to further innovation and publication are of particular interest. /

ILA RegieRoutman Teacher Recognition Grant / Literacy / The International Literacy Association (ILA) RegieRoutman Teacher Recognition Grant is an annual $2,500 award that honors an outstanding mainstream elementary classroom teacher dedicated to improving the teaching and learning of reading and writing. At least 60 percent of the school's students must qualify for free or reduced lunch. /
ING Unsung Heroes Program / Classroom Advancement / ING Commercial Banking established the Unsung Heroes in 1995 in an effort to recognize teachers implementing new teaching methods and techniques for improving student learning. The award application is centered on a description of previous projects teachers have worked on or plans they would like to enact in the future to benefit their classroom. Applications are judged on innovation, creativity and the potential to positively influence students. Each year, 100 finalists receive $2,000 grants, with at least one grant awarded in each of the 50 states. Of those 100 finalists, three winners are selected to receive awards of $25,000, $10,000 and $5,000. /
Junior League of Spartanburg / Classroom Innovation / ince 1986, the Junior League of Spartanburg has offered financial support to teachers through the Mini-Grants for Teachers Program, providing them with needed funding for projects. The program is dedicated to supporting projects developed by teachers from all schools in Spartanburg County. In the past 24 years, the League has awarded over $300,000 to public and private school teachers of Spartanburg County children. Teachers write grant proposals to enhance their classroom instruction that are based on creativity, benefit to students, efficiency and adaptability of the project.Teachers may apply for individual grants up to $600, team grants up to $1,000, or school grants up to $2,000.
