Wednesday 22nd April 7:15-9:30pm.The Fascinating World of Butterflies.A short AGM,then Jo Davies of the Glasgow branch of Butterfly Conservation talks about identifying common species of moths and butterflies in Scotland and their reproductive strategies. Sunday 10th May 11:00-15:00. Upper Nethan Gorge.Diverse woodland with locally uncommon species such as the broadleaved helleborine, wood mellick and pendulous sedge. Wildflower-rich grassland promises good insect life! Meet at the reserve entrance on the minor road from Blackwood village to Tillietudlem. Saturday 11th July 11:00-13:00. Wester Moss, near Stirling. Ranger led walk. Moss land habitat and recolonised bing. Good for large heath and other butterflies , dragonflies, flowers including rare bog rosemary. Meet at the Car park for the Fallin Mining Museum at the east end of the village on the A 905. Sunday 16th August 11:00-15:00. The Canal and River Kelvin.Easy walk along canal to Maryhill and river Kelvin ending up at Kelvingrove Galleries with optional return via Partick station. Summer flowers and birds. Meet at Westerton Station.Contact Mike Turner 0141 3570094
