Meeting Minutes

November 3, 2016

Call to order

The meeting was called to order the meeting at 6:40pm on November 3, 2016 in the Paul Fly library.

Approval of minutes from the October meeting

Motioned by Shannon Costontino & seconded by Kristi Faulk to approve the minutes from October. Minutes were approved.

Principal Report

·  Welcome!

Events in December:

o  12/8 – Winter concert

o  Parent workshop – Handwriting tips for parents, Online resources for parents (Dreambox)

o  2/8 – PVF Science Fair

·  New staff: Welcome to Kelly Graber!

·  Presented at PSBA in Hershey

·  American education week

·  Parent conferences will take place on November 22rd – 23rd

·  Lockdown drill soon

Teacher’s Report

·  A ton of thank yous’s for the upcoming fundraising, staff appreciation dinner and the book fair.

·  Art goes to school – looking for volunteers.

President’s Report

·  Parent Club Council update:

o  Two payments will be made to the PCC for the Art goes to school & postage stamps.

o  PAL center - come out to the center for homework help as well as volunteer opportunities for scholarship money.

o  Art goes to school – looking for volunteers.

·  Thank you note was sent to Walmart for the pumpkin donations

·  Thank you to all the volunteers turning out for the events.

1st Vice president report

·  RIF was held on November 3rd. We had a great group of volunteers who came out.

·  RIF distributions logs were sent out. You can send in logs through email and hard copy.

·  Goal is 49,000 books for the students to read throughout the year.

2nd Vice president Report

Fundraisers:

·  Chick-fil-a earned a profit of $70.48

·  Yankee – earned big profit and online sales run through January.

·  Spirit wear – sales continue

Upcoming fundraiser:

·  Applebees – 11/12

o  Need items for basket donations – Thanksgiving / Fall basket theme

·  Bingo – 11/18

o  Game and Lottery basket

·  Parents Night Out in December – Painting with a Twist at Skippack. (Voted on the painting).

Treasurer’s Report

·  Summary of bank account and summary of checks received was reviewed.

·  Tracy reviewed the layout of the documents (income, expenses, etc)

·  Deposits include Book Character boogie, Kidstuff & Yankee candle

·  There is a summary report provide (see attachment).

Committee Reports

·  Bake Sale – They are looking for volunteers.

·  Pod Party – December 23rd is the first party. An email will be coming out to the homeroom parents and a $6 donation envelope will be coming home in the upcoming weeks.

·  Box tops – There was a tie for the Fall submission. Mrs. Lunney & Mrs. Schultz class will share a party during their buddy time.

·  Book fair coming up on – 11/14 - 11/18

·  Need a chair person for the holiday shoppe
