HydroOne Networks’ Senior Counsel Honored as In-house Lawyer of the Year

Washington, D.C. (November 21, 2011) – The Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) is pleased to honor SanjeevDhawan, senior legal counsel for Hydro One Networks Inc. in Toronto, Ont., as the 2011“Robert I. Townsend, Jr. Member of the Year.”

The award, presented during ACC’sAnnual Meeting, is one of the highest honorsACC bestowson its members. It recognizes outstanding contributions, commitment and dedication of a single member to the association.

“Sanjeev has been key in helping ACC grow its membership and visibility in Canada,” says Robin Grossfeld, ACC’s vice-president of membership, chapters and communications. “His leadership is exceptional.He is president of the Ontario Chapter, which has held some of the most successful in-house programs anywhere in the world. In an organization with more than 29,000 members, his contributions to both his chapter and the larger association have really stood out.”

Under Mr. Dhawan, the Chapter doubled in size and initiated an award for Social Responsibility as part of the Canadian General Counsel Awards program. The ACC board and staff consider him a wise and consistent counsel in developing a strategy that really speaks to in-house counsel in Canada. His commitment is unwavering. He has served as a presenter at the Corporate Counsel University in New Orleans and is on the advisory counsel for the upcoming Corporate Counsel Classroom program in Toronto. He has also written for In-house ACCess,the ACC blog, and is writing a column on ACC for ‘Canadian Lawyer Inhouse,’ among many other activities.
