FCA Memorial Scholarship Application Packet

Southwest, Louisiana

Kyle Andrew Broussard was born May 28, 1986 and as a child and teenager enjoyed participating in several sports – baseball, basketball, soccer, and football. During his high school years, Kyle was a member of the Barbe football team, an organization that meant a lot to him. He was proud to be a Christian athlete and was respected for his integrity and teamwork, core values of FCA.

In May 2005 he graduated from high school and two months later in August 2005, one week into his freshman year at LSU, was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. After a brave 22-month battle, Kyle died on June 24, 2007, just one month after his 21st birthday. Kyle lived showing all who knew him how to live in the face of unimaginable adversity. He accepted the plan that God had for his life without question. He understood the Lord had a purpose for all he was going through and his faith sustained him. Kyle truly exemplified the verse from 2 Timothy 4:7 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith.” Kyle’s faith never wavered.

FCA's Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

We believe that there is only one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the deity of Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful men (women) regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
