This session will introduce the JDSN Supplier Profile – Engineering Systems Capability. This is the tool used to manage and organize part files at your company.

Prerequisites

The following activities must occur before a Supplier user will be able to access JDSN Supplier Profile – Engineering Systems Capability module:

·  All Supplier users must have a JD userid and password prior to accessing JDSN.

·  Supplier users must be added to their company’s Supplier Profile.

Objectives

·  Display your company's Engineering Systems Capability information.

·  Add a new Engineering Systems Capability.

·  Edit an existing Engineering Systems Capability record

What is JDSN Supplier Profile?

Supplier Profile is a web application tool designed to provide a summary of a Supplier's relationship with specific Deere Units.. Supplier Profile provides basic company information.

What is Engineering Systems Capability?

The Engineering Systems Capability tool that is part of a Supplier's Profile allows Supplier companies or John Deere employees to select the file format to view drawings for a specified John Deere Unit and identify engineering capabilities.

Requirements for Using Engineering Systems Capability

Before Suppliers can access information from JDSN Supplier Profile / Engineering Systems Capability, several requirements must be met:

·  The Supplier company must be authorized to access the JDSN Supplier Profile application. John Deere makes the request for a Supplier company to be authorized (John Deere Corporate Supplier Number). This is a John Deere responsibility.

·  Before Supplier users can log into JDSN Supplier Profile, each user must have a valid John Deere supplier userid and password.

·  A Supplier user must be added as a contact for their company in John Deere's Supplier Profile application and have a valid email listed.

·  Before Suppliers can see any Part information or geometry, the John Deere Buyer must associate the Supplier company with the Part. Suppliers can only see the parts associated with their company.

Requesting a John Deere Userid

Supplier users can request a John Deere userid from the appropriate John Deere representative. After the userid is approved, the Supplier user receives an email with the assigned userid and temporary password.

Starting Engineering Systems Capability

Use the steps listed below to display the Engineering Systems Capability page.

/ This page is located at https://jdsupply.deere.com .

1.  Display the JD Supply Network page.

2.  After displaying the front page, position your mouse on supplier and click on Engineering Systems.

3.  Type your John Deere User ID (i.e., ou12345) in the User Name box.

4.  Click in the Password box and type your password.

5.  Click the Submit button.

6.  Click the I AGREE button to accept to the JD Supply Network Terms and Conditions of Use Agreement and display the JDSN Engineering Systems Tool Main Menu page.

/ If you click the I DO NOT AGREE button, you will not be able to display the Engineering Systems Capability page.

Selecting Menu Options

/ If you cannot get to this page, please call the Supply Management Enterprise Support Center.

Click the Select a page list button and select one of the options from it. The Select a page list button is available from any screen.

JD Supply Network Support

Suppliers with access to JD Supply Network can call the Supply Management Enterprise Support Center at 800-939-1499 for help with applications available from JD Supply Network. Anyone calling will be asked for his or her User ID.

·  In Europe call 00800.33373.456.

Error Messages

When an error occurs, a message is displayed at the top of the page in red. The field with the problem displays a red background.

/ Click the error number link to display specific help for the error message.
/ Click the Close button to close the Help window for the error message if it was opened.

Printing

Choose File - Print from the menu or click the Print button in the Browser toolbar to print any of the pages displayed from the application.

Adding an Engineering Systems Capability

Use the steps listed below to add an Engineering Systems Capability record to your company's profile.

1.  Display the Engineering Systems Capability page.

2.  Click the Add Capability button to display the Add Engineering Systems Capability page.

3.  Complete the appropriate fields.

4.  Select the save button to add the capability.

/ Geometry Communication Method applies to all Engineering System Profiles per supplier and is a required field.


The table below briefly describes the Add Engineering Systems Capability criteria.

Geometry Communication Method / ·  Select the Geometry Communication Method. Options include HTTP or DXM.
·  This field applies to all Engineering System Profiles per supplier and is a required field.
Dimension / ·  Select 2D or 3D dimension.
File Format / ·  Select the appropriate file format or type the desired format in the text box to the right of the field if it is not available in the list.
CAD System / ·  Select CAD system from the list or type the desired system in the text box to the right of the field if it is not available in the list.
CAD Release / ·  Indicate the CAD Release.
PDM System / ·  Select the PDM (Product Data Management) System from the list or type the desired system in the text box to the right of the field if it is not available in the list.
PDM Release / ·  Indicates the version of the PDM (Product Data Management) tool being used.
Method of Design Exchange / ·  Select the Method of Exchange from the list or type the desired method of design exchange in the text box to the right of the field if it is not available in the list.
Firewall / ·  Select Yes or No to indicate if your company's network has a firewall.
Unit / ·  Select a list of Deere units using this supplier system.
·  Use control-click to select multiple units.
Supplier Contacts / ·  The selected person(s) identify who a Deere person would contact about your company's engineering capabilities.
3D System / Select the 3D System(s) for which your company can provide engineering.
·  Wireframe
·  Surface
·  Solid

Viewing an Engineering Systems Capability

Use the steps listed below to display your company's engineering systems information

1.  Display the Engineering Systems Capability page.

2.  Click View Details to display the Engineering Systems Profile Detail.

Editing an Engineering Systems Capability

Use the steps listed below to edit a capability's information.

  1. Display the Engineering Systems Capability page.
  2. Click the Edit button to the left of the capability record.
  3. Make the necessary changes you wish to change.
  4. Click the save button to return to the Engineering Systems Profile Detail page.

/ The Ag Division requires approval for all Geometry Communication Method and File Format requests / changes.

Deleting an Engineering Systems Capability

Use the steps listed below to delete a capability record from your company's profile.

  1. Display the Engineering Systems Capability page.
  2. Click the View Details link.
  3. Click the delete button.
  4. Click the ok button to confirm the deletion and return to Engineering Systems Capability page.
