ECI and STI 2011 Summer Programs--Dress Code and Personal Items List

What should I bring to the ECI and STI Summer Programs? Because Nashville weather is warm and humid, bring clothing items that are lightweight, but appropriate.

Clothing for classes, field trips to industrial sites and fun trips is generally casual:

Blue jeans and tennis shoes

Unacceptable clothing: too tight, too short, too low-cut and/or provocative tops or pants

No clothing with obscene, violent or suggestive messages or writing.

No caps and “do” rags

No flip-flops to industrial sites because of safety.

Clothing for field trips to engineering firms, seminars and closing ceremony:

Females: dress sandals or shoes, suits, skirts, dress pantsuits

Males: dress shoes, dress shirts and ties (jackets are optional)

No caps, “do” rags, flip-flops, blue jeans and tennis shoes for this category.

Clothing for casual after hours recreational activities:

Swim suits, swim trunks, moderate length shorts

Inappropriate clothing items for classes, field trips, seminars and closing ceremony:

Tank tops, halter tops, half-shirts, “short-shorts,” “sagging” pants/jeans, caps, “do” rags, flip-flops, house shoes, pajama bottoms/tops

What I should NOT bring?

Females: Tank tops, halter tops, half-shirts, “short-shorts,” or “sagging” pants/jeans

Males: Half-shirts, “sagging” pants/jeans

How money should I bring?
