INFORMATION SHEET

We are passionate about what we do and how we do it.

Kids Can Achieve is a well established charity in Harrow providing local services for local people. Kids Can Achieve supports and provides services for children and young people with communication disorders and disabilities and to their families. Our children and young people have a range of social, emotional, behavioural and learning disabilities including Autism and ADHD. Our objectives are to develop the self-esteem, social skills and learning attainment of children and young people and prepare them for integration into mainstream activities and independent young adulthood.

We are fair, we expect to be challenged, we always aim to improve, and we believe that we can. We do this by being creative, flexible, and supportive but also by being proactive.

Kids Can Achieve is at an exciting time in its development as it is currently in legal partership with The Westminster Society for People with Learning Disabilities.

The Westminster Society’s Children, Youth and Family Services Department provide a wide range of excitingspecialist and inclusive services for children and young people with disabilities and their families; including those with complex physical and learning disabilities, communication disabilities such as autism, ADHD and behaviour that challenges. In our inclusive services we also support children without disabilities and their families.

The current management arrangments andlegal partnership presents exciting new opportunities to continue to grow and develop the range of activities and support on offer by Kids Can Achieve. As well as supporting Harrow families, Kids Can Achieve also work closely with many families in Hillingdon.

We are always seeking to improve, develop and adapt what we do, so that we are flexible and responsive to the changing needs of families; as well as changes in government policy with new legislation such as the Children and Families Act.

Our Services hold the child and their family at the centre of all we do. Developing, nurturing and maintaining partnerships with families are essential to ensuring the best outcomes and so that families have meaningful choice and access to support that best suits their needs and wishes.
