Morning Prayer of the Church: In Wigtown on Mondays at 10.40; in Newton Stewart on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 09.40; and in Whithorn on Thursdays at 09.40.

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament: In Dalbeattie on Mondays after Mass until 10.45; and in Whithorn frequently as advertised.

Sacrament of Reconciliation: Fr William is usually available after weekday Masses and at any other time on request or by appointment.

2/ Stations of the Cross during Lent: In St Peter’s, Dalbeattie, on Sundays at 14.30; in St Ninian’s, Castle Douglas, on Tuesdays at 10.30; in St Andrew’s and St Cuthbert’s, Kirkcudbright, on Fridays after 10.00 Mass; and in Sacred Heart, Wigtown, on Fridays at 19.00.

3/ Lent Ecumenical Small Groups: Will meet in Kirkcudbright on Mondays at 10.00 (contact Pat on 330818); on Tuesdays at 10.00 in Daar Lodge and at 19.00 (contact Irene on 331234); in Castle Douglas in St Ninian’s hall on Wednesdays from 14.00-15.00; and in Dalbeattie in the Maxwell Room of St Peter’s on Thursdays from 10.45-11.45. There will also be a short ecumenical prayer time in the Parish Church, Gatehouse of Fleet, on Wednesdays at 12.20, followed by soup lunches organised by Gatehouse Churches Together in the hall. All welcome to take part in any of these sessions.

5/ Reflection on Pope Francis’ Message for Lent: Fr William will lead a reflection on Pope Francis’ Lent teaching on Saturday 3rd March in St Andrew’ and St Cuthbert’s hall from 10.00-12.00.

6/ Lent Services of Penance and Reconciliation, including First Reconciliation for Children : Will take place in St Andrew’s and St Cuthbert’s on Saturday 3rd March at 12.00;in St Peter’s after the 17.00 Mass on Saturday 3rdMarch; and in Our Lady and St Ninian’s on Sunday 4thMarch at 14.00.

7/ SCIAF Lenten Wee Boxes: Please take a “Wee Box” envelope home for use during lent.

8/ Help 'Clothes' the Poverty Gap: Collection at St Peter's during lent for clothes for distribution by the Salvation Army or for sale in the Salvation Army charity shop. All items gratefully received.

9/ One 'Can' Make a Difference: To boost the food bank during lent parishioners are encouraged to bring one food/toiletry item per week. Needed at present are coffee, sugar, spreads, toothpaste, etc.

10/ Esat Wigtownshire Parishes Parish Pastoral Committee: Meeting on Monday 26th February at 19.00 in the sacristy in Newton Stewart.

11/ God for Grown Ups: Next meeting on Monday 5th March from 14.00-15.00 in the Maxwell Room of St Peter’s, Dalbeattie. All welcome.

12/ Culture of Life Group: Meetings will be held on every 3rd Saturday in the month at 15.00 in the Maxwell Room. Next meeting on 17th March. All welcome. The group are looking for baby clothes to support the Cardinal Winning Pro-Life Initiative. See poster for details.

14/ St Cuthberts’ Club for Children Preparing for the Sacraments:Next meeting in St Andrew’s and St Cuthbert’s hall on Saturday 3rdMarch from 10.00-12.00.

15/ Polish Community Mass:Mass in St Teresa's, Dumfries, on every second Sunday of the month with a Polish speaking priest at 14.15.

16/ Safeguarding Level 1 Training:This training session for all PVG volunteers in Children’s Liturgy and Eucharistic Ministry will now take place on Sunday 25th February in Our Lady and St Ninian’s hall, Newton Stewart, at 14.30. Tea/coffee and biscuits will be served beforehand.

17/ "Ninian Moments": Ecumenical time of prayer on Mondays at 12.00 in Sacred Heart, Wigtown.

18/ "Cuthbert Moment":Ecumenical time of prayer on Thursdays from 11.00-11.15 in Greyfriars, Kirkcudbright.

19/ Patients in the new D & G Royal Infirmary:Anyone wishing a visit and/or to receive the Sacraments should text or message the RC chaplain on 07591 230828, or inform their Parish Priest prior to entering hospital, or in case of an emergency admission a member of the family should do so.
