PRIVATE TEACHER LIST
Private lessons are a critical factor to the success of a band program. Although not required, they are strongly encouraged. In a program of our size, it is impossible for two directors to give each individual student the attention that he/she deserves. That “one-on-one' time a student receives with a professional private instructor is greatly beneficial in order to maintain proficiency on his/her instrument. There are only a few teachers who specialize in more than one instrument. It is a waste of time and money, if not, musically harmful for a student to take lessons with someone who does not specialize on that particular instrument. Students may learn how to play their songs from someone who teaches all instruments, but they’ll never learn to MASTER their instrument. If you go to a music store, choose a teacher who will teach only his or her main instrument. Below is a list of private teachers in the area. *We even have some high school students who teach beginning lessons. Many of them teach in their homes or in local music stores. The names and contact numbers or the store at which they teach is provided. Also there are local music stores listed, which have many private instructors that are not listed below.
