Job Summary

The Fund Development Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of the fundraising elements of the TWR Africa Regional Strategy. This will involve working with Fund Development Manager and fellow TWR staff members and national partners to deliver fundraising objectives. The key outcomes of this role are to develop and grow the relationships at all levels that will deliver the resources required towards the advancement of TWR’s mission in Africa.

Competency Requirements
Educational Requirement
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Communications, Marketing or Public Relations
Experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a fundraising, marketing, public relations or communications

Key Responsibilities
Fundraising
  • Forecast and monitor funding needs for general funding and a portfolio of projects
  • Preserve and develop existing sources of support
  • Research and develop potential sources of support
  • Develop fundraising campaigns
  • Grow volunteer human resources
  • Grow partnerships and provide input towards a sustainable relationship development programme within South Africa for TWR Africa
  • Provide input to relevant parties to assist in the production of materials that will support the fundraising activities and campaigns
  • Gather and collate information and material for scheduled reports and funding proposals
Grant Writing
  • Generate proposals and supporting documents in response to requests for expressions of interest
  • Supports generation of revenue through timely submission of well-researched, well-written and well-documented funding proposals and other income opportunities
  • Maintain and implement funding calendar activities
  • Write reports to corporate, foundations and other funders
  • Act as liaison with programme staff
  • Identify funding opportunities and new areas to match TWR priorities, using research tools
  • Involved in special projects as needed
