Bahamaslocal.com is a business directory and “information portal” for The Bahamas. BahamasLocal.com provides business listings, real estate listings, classifieds, movie listings,and news to our website users. It is the most powerful internet-based source of local information in The Bahamas.

The business model of BahamasLocal.com is built upon provided valuable & free information that creates traffic from users. In turn, we then provide paid & premium advertising placements throughout our website.

We are seeking to hire OSRs that will help us to sell these premium advertising placements.

OUTSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE (OSRs)

Be a part of selling a cutting edge internet advertising medium, new to the Bahamian market.

We will provide the following:

  • In-house training
  • Marketing support
  • Billing support
  • Administrative support
  • Company Shirts
  • Sales Materials
  • Dedicated or shared office space

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Collaborate withOperations Managerto generate new sales and maintain current advertising clients.
  • Generate sales/leads from multiple sources; including cold calling, in-person visits, telephone campaigns, email campaigns, and direct mail campaigns.
  • Make independent sales presentations and close new sales (presentation materials will be provided by BahamasLocal.com).
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of all services offered by Bahamaslocal.com.
  • Keep a record of all of your sales/prospecting activities.
  • Meet a monthly sales quota.
  • Attend staff/sales meetings at reasonable intervals.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous sales experience; telecom/technology sales preferable.
  • Ability to implement creative methods of generating and maintaining new business
  • Demonstrated work ethic
  • Proficiency using Excel, MS Word, Outlook, and the Internet.
  • Previous experience in Internet Marketing a plus.

SALES QUOTAS:

The OSR is required to maintain a monthly quota of newsales of not less than $2,000per month.

If the OSR is unable to reach the monthly quota of $2,000 in new sales for any three months in a 12-month period, then his/her contract is subject to termination on 2 weeks’ notice including all rights to future commissions.

All contracts, agreements and client information are the property of BahamasLocal.com, not the OSR.

COMPENSATION:

  • The OSR will be paid a stipend of $1,000 during the first month of training.
  • For the following 3 months, the OSR will be paid a 50% commission rate on new sales or a stipend of $1,000 per month, whichever is greater.
  • After the first 4 months, the OSR will receive 30% commission on all of their closed sales.
  • Commission checks are paid at the end of each month. The OSR must submit invoice at least 2 working days prior.
  • A sale is recorded for commission when a OSR has given the Operations Manager the signed contract and customers payment has been cleared by their bank.
  • The OSR will be paid commission on the month in which the advertising is consumed, not paid.

WHAT IS BAHAMASLOCAL.COM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR?

  • OSR are required to give the office number as the main contact number. The office will forward on any messages instantly.
  • Taxes and national insurance.
  • A vehicle in good working order.
  • Vehicle fuel.
  • Cellphone/communication costs.
