Create a great day!
Greetings ,
On Sept. 2,NCDPI released School Performance results for the 2014-2015 school year. I am proud to announce that Bailey has once again exceeded our student achievement growth goals by being recognized as a North Carolina School of High Growth for 2014-2015 :-)!The North Carolina School Report Cards, to be released later this fall, are one way to measure our progress. The report card will include important information about school and student performance, class sizes, attendance, school safety, suspensions and expulsions, instructional resources and teacher quality. It will also include a School Performance Grade which is calculated and reported by the NC Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) and required for all NC public schools based on legislation passed by the North Carolina General Assembly. Bailey received a "B" for our NC School Accountability Grade for the 2014-2015 school year, falling just a point short of an A. Ultimately, Bailey continues to move in a positive direction with our academic achievement, as well as providing so many outstanding opportunities for our Broncos through the arts, music, and athletics.
I look forward to seeing many of our parents attend Curriculum Night next Tuesday, September 8 at 6:30 pm. We will offer three 30 minute sessions so parents with students on different grade levels have the opportunity to see multiple presentations. In addition, our Elective teachers will offer sessions for parents to see what studentswill belearning this year.
Our Summer Reading Projects are due by Friday, September 4. Please make sure your child has completed their online test in Google to receive full credit. We also ask that you take a minute to read and complete the information requested in our back to school packets if you have not done so already. Those documents should be returned to your child's homeroom teacher as soon as possible. I would like to wish everyone a safe and relaxing three day weekend as we celebrate Labor Day on Monday, September 7. /

/ Exciting opportunity with YMCA Camp Harrison
We are very fortunate to live in such a wonderful community. We look at our children and their neighborhood friends, and we're amazed by the fun and exciting summers we're able to provide for our families.
Yet, there are many children that do not have these same opportunities to grow and experience new adventures. We'd like to etablish a scholarship that will provide a Bailey student with the chance to attend YMCA Camp Harrison next summer.Together, we can give a child in our neighborhood middle school the unique opportunity to have the summer of a lifetime.
Please consider helping us send a kid to camp - for more information, click HERE. Thank you! /
