Purpose

Purpose:

Supervise and direct the work of the undergraduate application processing work group.

Essential Functions

Function 1:

Supervise the day-to-day activities and set priorities for all admissions processing and customer service staff. This includes transcript evaluators and data entry clerks. Develop, administer, and maintain operational policies and procedures relating to the processing of undergraduate applications for admission and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as those set by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.

Function 2:

Develop methods to increase the efficiency of application processing. Advise and consult with the Director regarding problems associated with the Operations area and make recommendations to solve these problems. Know all phases of the application process including fee payment, data entry, application review, and transcript evaluation.

Function 3:

Train or oversee the training of new processing staff, student workers, and temporary workers. Assure adequate staffing at times of high volume processing.

Function 4:

Manage the hiring process for vacant positions. Develop methods to monitor quality and productivity of staff work. Be available to meet with students with application problems. Serve on university committees as assigned. Perform related duties as required.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree, three years experience in an Admissions, Registrar's or Financial Aid office (or related high volume office), and some supervisory experience.
