Detailed Specifications for PTII Body Armor Inserts and Systems

PPII Body Armor System

1. Description:

AMI PTII Certified stand-alone level IIIA plates are fabricated compressed hard Dyneema at a density of 3.2 lbs/sq ft. with a linex coating for spall reduction, resulting in a total plate thickness of approximately ¼ inch. The AMI PTII weighs approximately 9 oz. each. This is a Multi strike plate with no maintenance (such as annual X-rays needed in determining if plates containing ceramic elements are still in compliance with their protective ratings) or shot placement restrictions on determining whether certain threats can be defeated successfully.

2. Ballistic Integrity:

  • No special handling or maintenance required as with all ceramic inserts.
  • The PTII inserts maintain ballistic integrity over the full strike face including 1 or 2 inch shot or edge spacing.
  • Provides full stand-alone protection. No other under-armor required.
  • Testing. An average velocity of the ammunition from each box of the different cartridge types was previously calculated using an Oehler Model 35 chronograph and three Skyscreen II photoelectric screens placed at 2 foot intervals beginning 3 feet from the muzzle.
  • Armor testing was conditioned for 12 hours at 170 degrees F to see if any separation between layer would occur, then moved to ambient air for approximately 90 minutes prior to being shot. No degradation of armor.

3. Test Results from 10 feet

FSP test methodology using .22 cal. projectiles. RCC Fragmentation Testing: 2, 4, 16, 64 grain. Tested to MIL-STD-662F in an indoor range with the muzzle of the test barrel mounted 8 feet away from the target.

5. Compliance with both the Buy American Act and the Kissell Amendment

All product is MADE IN THE USA. Product is developed with state of the art designs manufactured under zero-defects quality standards in THE UNITED STATES.

Highly guarded raw material handling with machining techniques result in body armor systems not available from competitors, who provide off-the-shelf products regarded in the market as basic commodities.

Manufacturers ISO Certification level is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001

The management system standards is certified in accordance with ISO 9001 and/or ISO 14001 standards. For certain processes additional standards and requirements apply. Environmental legislation and environmental care are guaranteed in the quality policy. In the value chain, they form the basis for dealing with suppliers, but also with customers. That ensures that the production process and the chain remain controllable

Made In USA Attributes

  • Unmatched weight reductions in body armor that achieve the ballistic threat protection compared to other products sourced in the USA today:
  • Pound for pound the lightest body armor designed to achieve total ballistic protection proven through multiple Agency product field testing.
  • Specially sourced materials using a select variety of multi-layered raw materials not utilized in the market today.
  • Proprietary anti-spalling exterior coating on inserts.
  • Final finishing of all inserts includes a unique edging to protect against fragmentation to prevent death or injury.
  • Ballistic testing conducted under extreme real life conditions using multi-weapon and barrel lengths and range distance challenges that exceed federal standards.
