TRUSTEE LOCK-UP DUTIES AND CHECKS

Final lock up is to be completed at 6PM

As you walk throughout the building, please note things that are in need of repair or attention and report any issues to the Trustee Moderator.

Test all emergency lights once each month.

Offering Collection – must be done immediately after each service:

·  If you only attend one service, make arrangements for another trustee to pick up the offering for the other service

·  Collect the offering plates from the front of the sanctuary or chapel

·  Collect & count the cash, leave a note with the cash amount with the offering, with 2 signatures

·  There is an blue vinyl envelope either in the fireproof cabinet or the trustee mail box – put the entire offering in the envelope

·  Put the envelope in the top drawer of the fireproof cabinet, lock the cabinet and take the master key with you

·  Return the offering plates – sanctuary plates go in the sanctuary, chapel plates go on the table in front of the chapel

·  Check that all lights and candles are out when you return the plates

6PM final lockup - check all rooms and hallways:

·  Lights out

·  Thermostats set correctly – 62 or lower for winter, 78 or higher for summer

·  Doors and windows securely closed and locked

·  Restrooms – all water turned off and not leaking

Sanctuary - Make sure candles are out – communion table, wall sconces and advent wreath (when used)

Back Hall (past the choir room) - Janitor closet door is closed – NOT locked

Pastor’s Offices – check for candles

Bathrooms – turn off electric baseboard heat (all 3 unisex handicap accessible bathrooms)

Office - Copier off

Upper Narthex Janitor closet - Social room and Narthex blower off

Chapel – HVAC fan off and candles out

Basement:

Meter room - overhead light is controlled by lower hall light

Classroom in the old section – check for sewer gas smell; leave doors unlocked and open

Kitchen & Washroom:

Water not running in sinks.

Stove is off, no gas smell

Social Room

Heating blower is off (if on, see instructions on wall control)

Lock doors to kitchen but not to hallways

Garage - Doors closed and locked
