A senior secondary education provider must have—
(c)processes to ensure the consistent application of assessment criteria and practices; and
(d)processes to oversee the conduct of assessments of the course including processes to conduct investigations and hearings and, if necessary, amend or cancel assessments.

The Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) is a statutory authority continued under the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic). The VCAA collects the information requested in this form, which includes personal information as defined in section 3 of the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic), for the purpose of assessing your institution’s application for recognition as a Senior School Provider. Additionally, in the event that this application is approved, the VCAA will use the personal information provided in this form to communicate with representatives of your institution regarding your institution’s ongoing recognition as a Senior School Provider. The VCAA may disclose the personal information collected in this form to organisations such as the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) and the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA) to enable those organisations to contact your institution in relation to their functions. The VCAA will not use or disclose the personal information collected in this form except for the abovementioned purposes, with the consent of the individual or if otherwise required or authorised by law to do so. If the requested information is not provided, your institution’s application will not be considered by the VCAA. When an individual’s personal information is provided to the VCAA by a third party, the VCAA requests that those individuals are made aware that their personal information will be or has been provided to the VCAA and the purpose for which it is or was provided. An individual may request access to personal information the VCAA holds about them, and request its correction if inaccurate. What documentation is in place to ensure that teachersunderstand what authentication entails?

The following must be available to teachers:

  • requirements regarding students acknowledging work not their own and strategies which students can use to avoid authentication problems
  • appropriate steps to take if a teacher suspects a student has submitted unacknowledged work which is not their own before reporting an allegation of a breach of rules
  • requirements for authenticating work completed outside class (this may sometimes need to be study-specific)
  • requirements regarding reviewing any student work which will eventually be assessed
  • authentication requirements for School-assessed Tasks (if the provider intends to deliver studies including School-assessed Tasks)
  • authentication requirements for Externally-assessed Tasks (if the provider intends to deliver studies including Externally-assessed Tasks)
  • processes for scheduling and rescheduling assessment tasks for individual students or for whole classes
  • authentication requirements when there are multiple classes of a study
  • details of the staff member overseeing these arrangements.

  • student responsibilities for ensuring work can be authenticated
  • processes should a student need to apply for an extension or to reschedule an assessment task
  • process by which students will be notified should a teacher need to reschedule an assessment task
  • authentication requirements for School-assessed Tasks (if the provider intends to deliver studies including School-assessed Tasks)
  • authentication requirements for Externally-assessed Tasks (if the provider intends to deliver studies including Externally-assessed Tasks)
  • awareness of the implications should a teacher not be able to authenticate a student’s work
  • details of the staff member overseeing these arrangements.
