Dear St. Timothy Preschool Parents:

Please join me on September 17th at 8:00 a.m. in the McGivney Room of the church for the first Preschool Coffee of the year. Stop by this informal gathering to learn more about our preschool program and to connect with other families. Younger siblings and those children not enrolled in morning preschool are welcome to attend.

I am pleased to inform you that our preschool staff is now complete. Mrs. Mary Jo Leary will be the lead teacher of the Green Sailboat class. Mrs. Leary has over a decade of experience teaching preschool. She focuses on hands-on learning and employs creative techniques in teaching letter formation. Mrs. Leary joins Mrs. St. Pierre and Ms. Kleb in the classroom on Wednesday and Thursday this week to ensure a continuity of learning. Please join me in expressing sincere thanks to Mrs. St. Pierre for competently shepherding the class through this transition time.

Mrs. Julie Dale will join the “Blue Bunny” classes as the assistant teacher on Thursday due to Mrs. Elmore’s change in plans. Mrs. Dale has a degree in Early Childhood Development, taught preschool for a decade at Holy Family, and comes highly recommended by Mr. McLaughlin. We welcome Mrs. Dale and her wealth of creative ideas to the St. Tim’s family.

Preschool students in the Sailboat classes are eligible to participate in our Reading A-Z program. The “RAZ Kids” website allows students to read ebooks that get progressively harder. The initial books are appropriate for those reading sight words. If your child is interested in reading and you would like to work with him or her at home, please send an email to Mrs. Fairbanks, our reading specialist, at .

Afternoon carpool is getting smoother. Feel free to stand next to your car (but not leave it!) in order to assist your student (and helper) in finding you. The presence of the bunny or sailboat symbol really helps us to find your car. If you need a replacement, please request it from your child’s teacher.

Our preschool program welcomes parental involvement. Please keep in mind that in order to volunteer, you must attend a Virtus classand complete the required paperwork for a background check. The paperworkcan be found on our school website under the parent resources tab. Please note that this is not optional, we must comply with the Diocesan guidelines regarding compliance standards. If you are not Virtuscleared, I encourage you to consider going through the steps to do so. For more information, please visit the school website. (

Vision screening is available on September 24th if you have concerns about your child’s eyesight.

Please be vigilant as you send in snacks/lunch to school. We are a peanut and tree nut-free preschool for our students’ safety.

Help us comply with licensing standards by adding the date every day to your child’s lunch/snack. Please keep snacks healthy, simple, and small.

Your child’s “picture day” is this Tuesday or Wednesday. Photos are taken in traditional uniforms (white polo shirt and khaki shorts/pants).

Thank you for entrusting your child to St. Timothy Catholic School this year. I look forward to meeting many of you at the Preschool Coffee tomorrow. Please know that I welcome your thoughts, suggestions, and feedback. My email is .

God Bless,

Mrs. Julie Evans
