NewsletterAdmin for Cheetah

Changes in version 2.1 (Released Nov. 7, 2017)

Inactivity signoff

If you have been inactive for 25 minutes, NewsletterAdmin will show a warning that says “Your session appears to be inactive. Are you still using the tool?”

If you do not click “Yes” in the next 5 minutes after the warning appears, the tool will automatically return you to the sign-in page, with a message at the top: “You have been automatically logged out due to inactivity.”

The change was made for two reasons: 1) it is good security practice to not allow users to be signed in indefinitely for a sensitive application like NewsletterAdmin and 2) if a user attempts to interact with the Cheetah API after a long period of inactivity, it may lead to unexpected and hard to reproduce errors. Starting a new session after inactivity helps avoid these odd bugs.

Changes to Recent & Pending Sends information

We’ve made some small changes to improve communication of details about Recent and Pending Sends.

  • We no longer show a “tooltip” when you hover on the icon. The information was duplicative. You can still load a Cheetah report about the send if available by clicking this icon.
  • Status: Removed status codesin this column, since the information isn’t helpful to most users and can be confusing. The codes are still captured in our logs in case they are needed by the dev team.
  • Status: We no longer show “Not Sent” as a status. Instead, we show “TEST” as the status for emails where we know it was a test send. We will show “Created” if a final email (or a test created outside the tool) has been created and not sent
  • Subject: We now show “TEST:” in the Subject for emails for known tests.
  • Send Time: Instead of “Not Sent” for known tests, we now show “n/a”. (Cheetah’s API does not provide a method for getting the actual send time of a test)
  • Relabled the final column from “Receivers” to “Audience”
