1.5MAINTENANCE MATERIAL SUBMITTALS

Retain "Differential Pressure Meter" Paragraph below if retaining calibrated-orifice, balancing valves in Part2.

  1. Differential Pressure Meter: For each type of balancing valve and automatic flow control valve, include flowmeter, probes, hoses, flow charts, and carrying case.

1.6QUALITY ASSURANCE

  1. Pipe Welding: Qualify procedures and operators according to ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code: SectionIX.
  2. Safety valves and pressure vessels shall bear the appropriate ASME label. Fabricate and stamp air separators and expansion tanks to comply with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code: SectionVIII, Division1.

1.7WARRANTY

  1. Manufacturer's Special Warranty on Domestic Products: Conbraco Industries, Inc. warrants products to be free of defects in workmanship or material for a period of five years. This warranty applies to Apollo brand products with "Made in the USA" markings only. Conbraco will correct such defects by suitable repair or replacement at Conbraco's discretion.
  1. Manufacturer's Special Warranty on International Products: APOLLO INTERNATIONAL products will be free of defects in workmanship or material for a period of two years. Conbraco will correct such defects by suitable repair or replacement at Conbraco's discretion.
  2. Manufacturer's Warranty on LASCO Fittings, Inc. products will be free of defects in workmanship for a period of three years from date of installation. The manufacturer's liability under expressed or implied warranty or for any reason is limited to furnishing replacement units or granting a credit for defective units. No labor expense or consequential damages will be paid by LASCO Fittings, Inc.

2.1PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS

Performance requirements in this article are for the piping system. Individual components may have higher pressure or temperature ratings.

  1. Hydronic piping components and installation shall be capable of withstanding the following minimum working pressure and temperature unless otherwise indicated:

Working pressure is equal to the relief pressure plus the static height of the system and pumping head. The only working pressure mandated by authorities having jurisdiction is for makeup water.

Coordinate pressures and temperatures chosen in ten subparagraphs below with Section 232113 "Hydronic Piping."

CPVC valve components maximum limits are 100psig (689 kPa) at 180 deg F (82 deg C); not to exceed 180 deg F (82 deg C) in CPVC piping systems.

PVC pipe fitting & valve components maximum limits are 150 psig (1034 kPa) at 73 deg F (22 deg C); consult PVC Piping Pressure Rating Correction Factors for temperatures above 73 deg F (22 deg C) not to exceed 140 deg F (60 deg C) in PVC piping systems.

2.2VALVES

  1. Gate, Globe, Check, Ball, and Butterfly Valves: Comply with requirements specified in Section230523.11 "Globe Valves for HVAC Piping," Section230523.12 "Ball Valves for HVAC Piping," Section230523.13 "Butterfly Valves for HVAC Piping," Section230523.14 "Check Valves for HVAC Piping," and Section230523.15 "Gate Valves for HVAC Piping."
  2. Automatic Temperature-Control Valves, Actuators, and Sensors: Comply with requirements specified in Section230923.11 "Control Valves."Section15901 "Control Valves."

MSSSP-122, "Plastic Industrial Ball Valves," is a standard for plastic ball valves. It is not comprehensive and additional data may be required for certain applications. In general, end types and pressure and temperature ratings are required. No applicable standards are available for plastic butterfly or check valves. CPVC piping in this Section is rated for up to 180 degF (82 degC). Verify that plastic valves are adequate for operating temperature of piping systems.

In "Basis-of-Design Product" Subparagraph below 101N, 111N, and 050N Series have PVC Body, EPDM O-rings, NPS 1/2 inch to NPS 2 inch (DN 15 to DN 50) 235 psi (1620 kPa), NPS 2 1/2 inch to NPS 6 inch (DN 65 to DN 150) 150 psig (1000 kPa); 103N, 113N, 053N, Series have CPVC Body, EPDM O-rings, NPS 1/2 inch to NPS 2 inch (DN 15 to DN 50) 235 psi (1620 kPa), NPS 2 1/2 inch to NPS 6 inch (DN 65 to DN 150) 150 psig (1000 kPa).

In "Basis-of-Design Product" Subparagraph below, Solvent Weld Connections: 191N, "Super C" Series, PVC Body, EPDM O-rings, 235 psi (1620 kPa) Full Port; 491N Compact, PVC Body, EPDM O-rings, 150 psi (1000 kPa), Standard Port; 491CE Series CPVC body C.T.S. (Copper Tube Size).

In "Basis-of-Design Product" Subparagraph below, Threaded Connections: 201N, 591N female NPT threaded; 111N, 113N, 153N female NPT Threaded Union.

Large plastic butterfly valves may have reduced pressure ratings.
