To the Students/Parents/Guardians of the Indiana Area Marching Band:

The Indiana Area Marching Band will be attending our first ever band competition held on October 10th, 2015! We are very excited to display our hard work and talents on the field of Norwin High School. We are currently scheduled to perform at 5:30 that evening in what will be an exciting event for our beloved marching band. WHEN: Saturday, October 10th, 2015

DIRECTIONS: From the East via Route 22

Take Route 22 to Route 66 bypass. Take the Route 66 bypass south and exit at Route 30 Interchange (bring $.95 in change; Route 66 is a toll road). Turn right onto Route 30. Go about 7 miles. Make a right just before the Kenny Ross Chevrolet truck lot (landmark: Caruso Cabinets on the right). Go to the top of the hill and make a left at the stop sign. Go to the second light and make a left onto Route 30. Go just past Kenny Ross Chevrolet and make a right at the flashing light. At the bottom of the hill make a left and proceed straight up the hill to the high school.

WHAT: Our marching band will perform our show for a panel of judges who will supply us with a score and feedback on our performance. The judges are some of the leading educators in our field and can supply outstanding comments on our show. We are considered festival class and will compete with those who are identified as festival. The staff will briefly meet with the judges following our performance to speak directly about our show.

ITINERARY:

  • 2:00 Report to the Senior High School.
  • 2:30 Leave for Norwin High School.
  • 3:45 Arrive at Norwin High School
  • 4:25 Warm-up time in Area A.
  • 5:20 Report to gate ready to perform.
  • 5:30 PERFORMANCE!!!
  • 6:00 Watch other performances in the stands.
  • 8:45 Awards Ceremony.
  • 9:30 Leave for Indiana.
  • 11:00 Arrive in at the Senior High School.

DRESS:

  • Uniform for show. BLACK SOCKS!!!
  • Black show shirt.
  • Appropriate clothing for the weather (to be used when sitting in stands).

FOOD/MONEY:

  • Students are permitted to bring snacks on the bus. However, garbage and inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated!
  • Students are permitted to bring money to purchase food at the show. However, this can only be done AFTER our performance.
