BUSINESS DISCUSSED AND ACTON TAKEN:

ABC Board Chairman Chip Chagnoncalled the meeting to order. There being a quorum with fourmembers of the Craven ABC Board present, the meeting was opened with a prayer by Mr. Gatchel.Mr. Leeled the Board in the Pledge of Allegiance.In accordance with GS 18B-201, it is the duty of every Board member to avoid both conflicts of interest and appearances of conflicts. Does any member have any known conflicts of interest or appearance of conflict with respect to any matters coming before the Board today?

  1. CHAIRMAN REPORT – Approval of minutes from prior meeting.

Motion was made to approve the minutes from the last meeting. Leemoved andWhitemanseconded that the minutes be approved as written. The approval of the minutes passed unanimously. It was noted that GM Brown was out of town to see his fatally ill father.

  1. LAW ENFORCEMENT ACTIVITIES REPORT

Agent Knight reported on SeptemberABC law enforcement activities He stated that he held three public information programs. Pictures of the program at Union Point were provided to the Board.

  1. SEPTEMBER SALES & COMPARISON REPORT – Septembersales increased 5.29% from the previous year making the year to date up 1.83%. The Board noted the increase of sales of 27.18% for Vanceboro. It was noted that Havelock’s mixed beverage was up 4.46%.

OLD BUSINESS

  1. Update on lot site negotiations and building information provided by B.Gatchel and T.Eure.
  1. Chairman updated Board members on the upcoming meeting on November 6, 2017 at the County Commissioner meeting concerning the approval for the purchase of land. All members were encouraged to attend.

NEW BUSINESS

  1. Patterson, in the absence of the General Manager, pointed out the table set up and stated that the Connect with Craven event had been a success thanks to GM Brown. Collins stated he would like an email sent out when such events that we are participating in.
  1. Patterson stated that Donna Rouse had been retained as a consultant and was under contract. Chairman Chagnon discussed the advantages of having done this.

There being no further business before the Board the meeting was adjourned at 6:00PM. This motion was made by Lee, seconded by Whiteman. Everyone was encouraged to attend the New Bern City of Alderman meeting at 7:00PM where Chairman Chagnon will present their distribution check.
