Universal Credit & Welfare Reform Seminars

Overview:

The 3 hour half day introductory / intermediate level seminar is aimed at multiagency practitioners working with services delivered to customers who will be affected by the reforms introduced in the Welfare Reform Act 2012. This seminar will be delivered by Train on the Tracks Ltd

Workshop Aims:

ü  Increased understanding of the changes introduced by the Welfare Reform Act

2012, including Universal Credit, Personal Independence Payment and the implementation timescales

ü  Awareness of the potential impact on vulnerable customers and families, and the impact for support providers

ü  Latest future tips for working with the new changes

Who Should Attend:

The course is aimed at providing an introduction for staff from statutory and voluntary sectors in particular those staff working with vulnerable families. For example, Team Around The Family, Voluntary Sector Support Services, Families First Funded Projects.

Methods of delivery:

The workshop is highly interactive, delivered through trainer presentation accompanied by course notes, group and subgroups, with running exercises exploring the themes and changes presented.

Timings:

The half day sessions will be held over 3 hours and staff can select either a morning or afternoon session to attend.

Refreshments will be available from 9am and the session will start promptly at 9.30am. The afternoon session refreshments will be available at 1pm with the course starting at 1.30pm.

Although refreshments will be available throughout the sessions, lunch will not be provided.

Cost:

These are FREE EVENTS provided by the Mid and West Wales Families First Consortium. Places are limited to a maximum of 14 per session and are likely to be oversubscribed; therefore your commitment to attending once a place has been secured is essential and will be subject to approval from your Head of Service/Manager.
