Lone Star Symphonic Band to perform Patriotic Concert at Memorial High School
June 5, 2010. Houston, Texas. The Lone Star Symphonic Band will be performing a patriotic themed concert, titled “One Nation…” on Sunday, July 4th, 2010 at Memorial High School, 935 Echo Lane, Houston, Texas. The concert will begin at 4:00 pm, in the Performing Arts Center. Tickets are available online for $5.50 each at and will be available at the door for $10 each. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Memorial High School Band program.
The Band will be performing patriotic music such as “America, the Beautiful,” “Shenandoah,” “Salute to the Armed Forces,” “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” “Americans We,” “Amazing Grace,” and “God Bless the USA.” Presentation of the Flags, as well as the Military Branch flags will be made during the concert as well.
Lone Star Symphonic Band is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to bringing performances of artistic merit to the Houston metropolitan area. Founded in 1993 as the West Houston Concert Band, the band is comprised of musicians from all walks of life and instills the value that music is a life-long event, continuing well beyond high school and college, and awards the Jon K. Fisher Memorial Scholarship to students majoring in Music. In the summer of 2005, the Band entered into a joint venture with Houston Community College – Spring Branch Campus, offering the band as a course for credit to HCC students interested in performing with an ensemble. The Band is under the direction of Mr. Bob Bryant.
