TUESDAY, September 13Objective: To interview key stakeholders in a sampling of school sites and continue to gather data and verify the district’s guided self study from the school site’s perspective. Interview and observational data gathered through the school visits will play an integral role in formulating appropriate systemic commendations and recommendations for the district as well as verification of District Accreditation Standards.

SCHOOL VISITS

Each QAR mini team of 2 members will visit one to two schools. The specific schedule for school visits is included on “Team Member Assignments.” Central Office Supervisors will transport team members from the hotel to the schools (morning and afternoon), to lunch and back to the hotel.

General Visit Schedule:

  • Arrival time back in Frankfort varies
  • School Visit(s) will include:
  • School walk through with principal or designee (plus student escorts where possible; Team should use this opportunity to ask questions of students.)
  • Interview each of the following groups at the school

Group of 6-10 school stakeholders such as a mixture of parentswho are not employees; community members; business partners; and new teachers, counselors and/or media specialists who have not otherwise been involved in the interviews.

Reminder—

Under District Accreditation, the Team’s purpose is to validate/corroborate the district’s assistance, support, direction, feedback, and quality assurance implementation; it is not making the visit to evaluate the school’s compliance with SACS accreditation requirements. There is not a report prepared on each school visited. The only documentation that the school has been requested to have available is its School Improvement Plan.

WEDNESDAY, September 14Objective: To conduct any final interviews needed for Standards’ verification. To finalize all mini team reports and provide information for the Oral Exit Report. As a quality assurance team to review the major conclusions set forth in the Oral Exit Report and reach consensus prior to the report’s review by the Chair and Vice-Chair with the Superintendent and the general public.
